What's the big deal with Crocs?

I'm just curious because I see them getting rave reviews all over the boards. I have to admit, it's becoming tempting to get a pair, but when I saw them in the store the other day... they were $40! I was shocked! Any input I could get on this would be great. TIA!

They are light, comfy, & mold to your feet. I was sure I would never own a pair (I think they are ugly) but now I have them & wear them constantly...even here in the snow!

Hi~

They are THE MOST comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I think you can get them cheaper through zappos.com.

The Nile style is less - $29.99 - but yes, they are pricey. that's why I don't have a pair...YET...

Once I heard they are good for people with plantar faciatis (sp?) I was sold. I have that (although it hasn't been too bad lately) so I alwasy keep it in mind when I'm buying shoes.

Other people on the boards here have said the Payless knock offs are decent - but not the Walmart ones.

I saw the Walmart ones the other day. I picked them up to check them out. Not even close to the real things. The material is all wrong.

My 18 year old daughter is a waitress and her feet were always killing her till she bought a pair of crocs. She says its the best $30 she ever spent. We found them in Coach House Gifts (strange place for shoes, I know) in the mall. No reason to pay more than $30, as that is the price from the crocs online store as well.
Hospital workers have been wearing them for years. Its only recently that the rest of the world has caught on. I would wear them, if only I could find some for narrow feet. Maybe someday...

being a person with awful feet (plantar fasciatis -no clue how to spell but it hurts like :furious: , bursitis, heel spurs) disney is a killer! i went over XMas, 7 days in a row. by day 4 my feet hurt so bad i had shooting pains through both hips and it hurt my lower back to sneeze, laugh, cough, etc. (but i'd do it again in a heartbeat!) i was popping 12 advils a day, putting foot lotion on morning and night, and beating the heck out of my orthotics. so i have to say, after hearing all this about the crocs - i am sooo tempted! yes, they are ugly as sin. but if they made my trips any less painful, i wouldn't even care. but i am nervous to put out the $30 and then feel crippled within an hour of wearing them (which has happened countless times and then i only make a buck at garage sales, lol) does anyone know where i can find them? maybe try them on and walk around the shoe dept for 20 min? i am game for anything that helps my poor little puppies.... :Pinkbounc :worship:

I bought my first pair of Crocs - the Niles - for the trip we just came home from based on the advise from this board and I have to say - they were the BEST shoes!!

I have a wide flat foot - it doesn't take much for my feet to ache. Past trips, even in very expensive walking sneakers, always had me in agony by the 2nd hour of the first day. My feet did still hurt a bit even with the Crocs but NOTHING like in the past!

I was SO confident that I didn't even bring my sneaks this trip - I brought my Crocs and my Merrel Reactor Sandals as a backup. I wasn't even in FL for an hour when I somehow snapped the little peg holding the strap to the side of my shoe off - I have no idea where it went and I was in a panic that I had just lost my favorite pair of shoes before I even stepped foor out of the airport.

I made it to the hotel without my strap and the next morning - our first morning in WDW I started off with my Merrel's. They were OK but not comfortable enough for me so DH rigged up my strap on my Crocs threading two twist ties through the hole on the shoe and on the strap and I was in heaven from then on.

I will never go to WDW again without a pair of Crocs!!!

I have had my Aspens for 5 days ...I LOVE THEM!! I have arthritis is my knee and they are really comfortable. I have to wear shoes when I am home otherwise my knees and feet really act up and these are so light and comfy.... I am getting the Niles for our March trip. The Aspen is nice and warm here in Ohio....snow and all!! :cool1:

I have heard a lot about these shoes and we are going to WDW for 7 days in June. I was wondering if anyone had a picture of these shoes so I know what to look for? Where is the best place to buy them and what is the best price for them??
I am new to all this so please forgive this newbie

TIA

Heather

Heather--

You can see them on www.crocs.com. There was a thread on a week or so ago of people posting pictures of their crocs if you want to search for that thread.

They were advertised in the "Dick's Sporting Goods" flyer yesterday for $30. I have wide feet with a bunion, and I can rarely find any good shoe to fit for less than $40. Forget about Payless, etc. These Crocs fit well, are comfortable, and I can wear my orthotic inside them.

I love my Crocs. They are just the best and worth the price. Mine are about worn out from constant wear during the summer. But for how they feel I would pay more. :thumbsup2

I was just looking at the Aspen model on their website. What is that material on top that covers your foot? Is it like wetsuit stretchy stuff? Are they actually waterproof? :yay:

Has anyone worn them all day in the summer at the themeparks and do they end up stinky? We were thinking they may be good for the water rides and we wouldn't have to change shoes if you can wear them all day. We hate soggy sneakers!

First let me say, I love my Crocs:love: . I love my Crocs so much that I keep them on my feet when I am in the house. I do not keep any other shoes (including flip flops which I wear 95% of the time) on my feet in the house, I just don't, never have! Well, I have noticed that when I wear my Crocs in the house, I am always shocking myself :scared1: , shocking the dogs - poor things , and whatever else I touch. I have tile and hardwood floor, so it's not due to walking on carpet. As soon as i take my Crocs of and touch whatever - the door to let the dogs out, etc - I no longer get shocked. :confused3 Now I keep my Crocs next to the slider, and put them on my feet after I open the door, before I walk out with the dogs!

I bought myself and DS each a pair for our trip, we've been back a week :sad1: but I have to say, these were the BEST shoes ever!!!!!!!!!! I fell in LOVE with them. I'd say, GET a pair before your trip, you won't regret it!!!!!

The entire shoe is made of the same material. It is some type of close-cell resin material. Very soft and flexible, but waterproof.

They are bacteria and odor resistant, so yes, you can wear them all day without getting stinky feet!
