What's the big deal with Crocs?

The crocs work for men or women. Mine are a men's 6-7 & a women's 8-9.

Just back from our vacation and I have to say that I am a total CROC convert now!! I didn't really think I would wear them that much while I was there since I also bought a pair of Keens and a pair of Monotrail sneakers, but my Crocs were *by far* the most comfortable out of the three (and the most affordable!).
I actually got 2 pairs before I left--one was the Beach style and one was the Cayman style. The Caymans fit me better since they are whole sizes (6,7,8 etc...) while the Beaches are sized in ranges (6-7, 8-9). Anyway, I gave my Beach ones to my mom who was with us and she fell in love with them too and wore them to every park. Now I am sad that we have 8 inches of snow here in MD and i can't wear them!!! I will definelty be getting a pair of the Athens flip flops for summer!

2 years ago a kid on Campus Residence Counsel wanted to do a fundraiser by selling "Crocs" unforntunately he was about a year too early for the trend to kick in so we lost alot of money... just an interesting story

I were Crocs all day all the time and I live in So FL. No sweaty, stinky feet at all. Just pure comfort. Have black, sage, emerald, white and purple Beaches as well as an Emerald pair of Niles.

I saw the Walmart ones the other day. I picked them up to check them out. Not even close to the real things. The material is all wrong.

What is the difference? I bought a pair of the Walmart ones but haven't taken the tags off yet. (they only had green and I'm not sure about the color)I also bought a pair from famous footwear (taupe color) and am afraid to try them based on what I've read. Is the difference worth the extra money?

The Wal-Mart ones are hard and do not form to your feet. I had my Crocs on when i looked at the ones at Wal-Mart and believe me they do not even compare. The Crocs are soft and will mold to your foot. When holding them you can actually squish the Crocs between your fingers and the Wal-Mart ones are HARD and do not give.

I also went and looked at the ones at PayLess Shoes. They are better than the ones at Wal-Mart and would probably be okay for 15 bucks but they still were not as soft and did not mold like the Crocs do. I have three pairs of Crocs and I wear them when walking on the treadmill and around the neighborhood. They are great.

I'm a croc convert. I am on my feet at my job for 8+ hours at a time 5-6 nights a week and my feet would ALWAYS kill me before my shift even ended. So, I broke down after trying out Nike, Reebok, Land's End mocs and anything else I could think of, including adding shoe inserts but nothing worked. I finally relented and bought a pair of crocs and now, my feet don't feel a THING during or AFTER my shift! I LOVE them!! No more foot problems after years of aching feet!! Absolutely worth the money. No dount about it. My only complaint is that they do run WIDE. I have a "AA" foot width and found the chidlren's sizes to fit slightly better, but I wear socks with them at work, so they don't fall off.

WOW! Sounds like Crocs are the thing to wear at the parks. I have one question for all you Crocs wearers out there. We're going to buy a pair for the DD's for our trip this June. Do you wear socks or not with them at the parks? TIA

I was wondering about socks too...do you wear your Crocs with or without socks or either way? I can't imagine going without socks, I almost always wear socks, even in summer.

I know this is going to sound really weird, but I do not wear sandals, I don't know why, I just feel funny in them, mostly in the summer I wear my little white Keds or any one of my MANY pair of K-Swiss tennis shoes...I love my K-Swiss...I can't wear my Keds in the parks, but I'm pretty comfy in my K-Swiss cross trainers with shock absorbers....are Crocs really better? -- I wouldn't mind trying them....maybe to bring as a back up pair for my May trip, but oh my gosh.....they are just SO ugly.....since I feel weird in sandals, I really can't imagine wearing Crocs!

I do no wear socks with mine, but I don't wear socks with many things - since I moved to FL the only time being when I had to wear tennis shoes/sneaks whatever the name might be to the parks. My other park shoes were Lands End Mocs (RIP) - and I didn't wear socks with them either.

I keep them on all day and my feet do not sweat. I wore them the first time for a whole day at EPCOT - very warm humid January day - and my feet did not sweat and no blisters. I had literally worn them only about 15 minutes in the house the prior day.

We are big on flip flops and Birkenstocks so the Crocs are a nice addition! The first thing my DD does when she comes home from school is take off her sneaks and socks, so the crocs are great for her too!

I have size 10 feet, and right now I only have RED - so they might be funny looking but I don't care! The CM/handler that was with the characters at Cape May Cafe on Saturday wanted to know where I got them - he loved them!

I would have to say the imitations probably do not compare, due to the uniqueness of the material they are made out of.

I got lucky and found them at Sports Authority, was not even looking for them there, and they were on sale for $23.

All I can say is that you won't be disappointed..it will be 30. well spent! Whe my dad first started wearing them...I laughed, then I bought a pair and I was a convert. My 65 year old mom wears them...and she has had every foot/leg/hip problem in the book. She says they make her aging knees feel better...have even helped her put off that knee replacement surgery!

I volunteered at my dd's summer camp last summer. On the first day I wore Keds and went home with aching feet. The rest of the week I wore Crocs and not a pain to be had...and that was a long week of standing in the heat!

I wouldn't even worry about the "funny looking" factor...they are so popular, now one will even notice- except to say "cool shoes- where did you get them?"

BTW- The sell them at Dillards, Von Mauer, and Nordstrom to name a few major stores.

I received my first pair of Crocs a couple of weeks ago and love them. I do wear socks with them. They are very ugly but at the same time, very comfy!

Be very,very carefull about CROCS! They tend to invade your closet. Oh, sure you get that first pair and think, "How Ugly!" Then you put them on, and your feet smile at you. Your children pick up there clothes and do the dishes. Your DH/DW takes you to dinner and plans a surprise trip to Disney... And the next thing you know you own over a dozen pair. (or at least I do...) 'Cause even these ugly shoes come in fun colors and who cares what the the color is cause they are ugly... It is a vicious cycle!

Really, I do have a dozen pair. I got the first ones last April. Only thing that saved a trip to Scotland when I injured my ankle so badly that it was swollen from the knee to the toes, and every thing turned a lovely mottled color wheel. I got a "few" more pairs for WDW. Then the yellow cause they looked like Minnies shoes to me. Never thought I would wear the light pink, or lime green, which ever DISSER should own...

Having said all that I do notice that the older ones are a little flat. So I went and got a new pair of Merrills yesterday for the trip tomorrow.. But I will still take a few pairs of my CROCS just in case! I wore the new Merrills for 14 hours yesterday, and have them on now... no blisters yet!

So get a pair of CROCS, even if you think they are ugly. And don't forget that the straps can be changed around to give you shoes of one color and straps of another, as if they could get ANY stranger!

being a person with awful feet (plantar fasciatis -no clue how to spell but it hurts like , bursitis, heel spurs) disney is a killer! i went over XMas, 7 days in a row. by day 4 my feet hurt so bad i had shooting pains through both hips and it hurt my lower back to sneeze, laugh, cough, etc. (but i'd do it again in a heartbeat!) i was popping 12 advils a day, putting foot lotion on morning and night, and beating the heck out of my orthotics. so i have to say, after hearing all this about the crocs - i am sooo tempted! yes, they are ugly as sin. but if they made my trips any less painful, i wouldn't even care. but i am nervous to put out the $30 and then feel crippled within an hour of wearing them (which has happened countless times and then i only make a buck at garage sales, lol) does anyone know where i can find them? maybe try them on and walk around the shoe dept for 20 min? i am game for anything that helps my poor little puppies....

The only bad thing I can say about Crocs is that once you wear them, you won't want to wear anything else! Unfortunately, my feet get cold here in Indiana in October and they stay that way until May, so I haven't worn my Crocs much this winter. Even wearing socks doesn't help for me. However, they WILL be going to WDW with me in March. I wore them pretty much all the time last year, and they were great!

And, as my tag says, they don't stink!

They are only ugly to those who don't have them. It is amazing how "unugly" they get once you have a pair or two...or three...of four It is true, though...I do not want to wear anything else. I wear them with and without socks...depending on the temperature. The funny thing is...I have always been a shoe hater. The minute I walk into my house, the first thing I would do is kick off the shoes. Now, with Crocs, I will actually climb into bed, and realize my shoes are still on.

I'm a shoe hater too! My shoes have always come off the second I entered the house. Like you, I'm finding myself wearing my brand new Crocs all over the house!
