What's the best price you've gotten for a deluxe?

...and what type of discount (and time of year) was it? We would like to take a trip early December, we usually stay at a moderate but would like to try a deluxe. We may try to get a teachers discount at the Dolphin or Swan.
So, what' s the best discount you've gotten for a Deluxe?

$151 per night at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, guaranteed savannah view, December 25-31 last year using Annual Passholders rate.

Since it was a slow season, we were upgraded to Savannah View for free.

$95 Savannah view at AKL. We were booked at that rate at POFQ and then they closed it for refurbishing and this is where I negotiated our move.

Go to www.mousesavers.com and sign up for the email alerts. They codes usually come out a few months earlier. You can also look on the Codes thread at the top of the Disney Resorts page here on the DISBoards. Everyone here is pretty helpful as to when to start looking.

We were able to get $199/night for early December, 2002 - it was so nice and I had always dreamed of staying at GF for Christmas!!!!

We usually just stay at All Star Movies or Pop Century for $49/night!

Regardless of the rates others have gotten in the past, there is no guarantee such rates would be offered again. Many are a one time situation.

I know we had CBR booked the year the Yacht and Beach opened and we were offered to move over there to "try it out" at the same rate as we were paying at the Caribbean. So we got a deluxe for $89, I don't imagine we will ever see that special again.

Same thing when Wilderness Lodge opened, we were offered an upgrade special rate.

With the advent of Internet forums any new resort Disney opens needs no incentives to draw customers, the Net does that for them.

$179 for a standard view at the YC back during value season of 1998. Recently we have gotten a savanna view for $151 a night Jan 2005. Both of these are before taxes.

The best rate we have gotten at the S/D was $99 a night on a Labor Day special they ran a couple of years ago.

Back in the day (It was over 10 years ago now) we got a FL resident rate of $99 p/n (including tax) for 12th floor tower club at the contemporary during Christmas.

More recently Disney Club manager special rates at BW
