well, this is the first time I have stayed in a deluxe, but I think it is a good deal. I don't remember how it broke down so I will give you total cost. We have savannah view at AKL with dining plan for 7 nights for 2350.00 that was a mailer code we got a few months ago. We are going June 9th. Oh, we also used that mailer to get two nights at all star sports-66.00 per night.

AKL Savannah view $139. A really great CM upgraded our Standard view when he realized it was the kids' first trip. Granted, this was one of the rooms on the end of the Zebra trail on the Uzima savannah so we DID have views of the animal housing -- but do the kids actually CARE whether they can see the fences or not?)

BWV Studio $155 (renting from a DVC member)

$109 per night AP rate for AKL standard room, we got a complimentary upgrade to savannah view. This happen 2 years in a row in July and August.

We got AKL Sav.view for $109 a night we were booked at CBR and when they closed for referb. we were offered this instead. I of course grabed it. I never could have justified spending 18 nights at AKL for the rack rate!

Seems to me, from personal experience and the posts on this thread, that the AKL $109/night AP discount rate Standard room is typically upgraded to Savannah view. I kid my wife that I don't believe AKL has a "Standard" room because we have alway been upgraded to Savannah. Maybe AP holders get special treatment?

Last year with the military room only discount we were able to get the Poly LVC for $336 a night, I think it worked out to $360 something with tax. Don't remember but it definately was a vacation of a lifetime. Now our daughter wants to stay here everytime - definately not going to happen again anytime soon. (LOL)

A long time ago we got a room only code, non-AP at the Contemporary wing...$154.00 a night. Once we got a Cast Member discount from a friend and stayed at Wilderness Lodge for $145.00. Fabulous! We got the Swan this past Thanksgiving, AP rate of $161.00 per night.

2 years ago we went in October (last week) and got $145 for the CR tower. We just loved staying there watching the MK wake up in the morning. The rooms were wonderful, we would stay again if we got this great price!

The best deal that I couldn't take advantage of was is 2003. The 7 nites 8 days package, for the price of a 4 / 5 package.

Last year they had the 7/8 for 5/6, we did get that one.

I just told them I was a teacher when I called to book. Call the Swan directly rather than booking through CRO... I'm looking for the number now.... here it is! It's 888-828-8850. They'll tell you what's available at those rates.

Just bring hubby's paystub or work ID with you just in case --they say you need to show proof of employment when you check in, but I was never asked.

Nurses also qualify for the discount; and there is also a separate government discount that includes federal, state, Canadian, military, and Amtrak workers.

Being a nurse, I have gotton the Swan and Dolphin deals as well- which are GREAT! We are booked to stay this year at CY view WL for $204 the first week in Dec!
