HELP! RIght now my reservations are for POP. This is only our second trip to WDW and last year we were in ASMo, so I only have value resort experience.

I am thinking about upgrading to a MOD resort, but I am not sure which is best. I am looking for something that isn't a tremendous walk to the busses and food.

Thanks for any help. All opinions are welcome!

For a mod we like Port Orleans Riverside :goodvibes BEST food court in WDW in our humble opinion. It will always be Dixie Landings to us. We like staying in the Bayou section.

All of the mods are fabulous in their own way. You can find dozens of threads on here and everyone will have their own opinion. We found POR to be inconvenient as far as being close to a bus stop and the main building. The only other one we've stayed at is CSR. We found it nice in the Casitas or Cabanas- they both were a 5 minute walk from the food and each section had its own bus stop. Plus it is easy to utilize the internal transportation system. :thumbsup2

CSR would be my choice! Great pool for the kids and the transportation was the best I've experienced at WDW.

CSR! Great food options, awesome main pool and slide, and terrific non shared transportation! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

Thanks!......We aren't concerned with the pools......don't have much time for swimming while at WDW.....

If you're not concerned with the pools, I would just look at pics of the resorts and pick and theme that suits you and your family. :)

Coronodo Springs, my wife and I love this hotel. It is very relaxing and has some great architecture.

I'm a little confused. If you aren't interested in the pools becasue there is no time for swimming at WDW, why would you upgrade? Why not just stay at the value and have more money for souvenirs, etc? We stay at a moderate because we like the extra things that are offered, including better pools and less crowds. Our favorite is the CSR.

Buzz...no offense, but what does it matter if the resort doesn't share buses. It still has multiple stops like all the other mods. I'm not sure where this is a big plus for CSR.

PS We stayed at POFQ and during a recent trip there were many times where the bus did not go over to POR. It only went to POFQ which only has 1 stop and this had nothing to do with whether the bus was full or not.

just because I am not interested in pools does not mean that I don't want a nicer resort........

First off, it matters to some since many ask. Secondly, it makes a big difference when you are leaving the parks when have to wait through 4 or 5 bus loads to get on your bus back to your resort because POR/POFQ share a queue as well. It's well documented that POR/POFQ doesn't have the best bus service. And last, IMO, 4 stops in a one mile circle is not as bad as picking up at POFQ and then taking a ride over to POR to do 4 more stops.

Thanks Buzz for the bus info.......it IS important to me in my decision making. I don't want to share the busses with double resorts.

My two favorites are POFQ & CSR for different reasons obviously. I love the style of both, and POFQ is very small, while CSR is very large, and the walks can be long. But, CSR also has a few upgraded amenities (workout facility, more room service options, sitdown restaurant).

Like I said..."no offense".:) I was just trying to point out that all mods have multiple bus stops that are spread out around a big loop. There is no doubt that if you stay at POR(moreso than POFQ), that you are going to encounter standing room only buses.

I don't know if you are purchasing a package, or could do your room separately?
We enjoy the Dolphin (you get EMH and transportation but not DME or dining plan) and have found it to often be priced in the moderate category but consider it more of a deluxe property.
Just MO.
...and the pool is great!

Have fun!

I agree with you about the bus situation being very similar. In fact, POFQ would probably be considered to be the best service of all the mods since when it doesn't share it's only 1 stop! Also, it probably takes the same amount of time to make the CSR loop (and CBR) as it does to go from POFQ to POR. For the record, we never once stood on a bus on the way to the parks, and only a few times on the way back. And we never waited for 4 or 5 busses to get back. Maybe 2, tops. But it seems no matter if the bus service improves each year, there are people who will continue to harp on how bad it is. But that's just people, I guess! ;)

My sister-in-law loved both POR and CBR. She said that they were both great.
Don't worry whatever you will pick will be great. For some more info check out wdwinfo.com and allearsnet.com. Both sites offer lots of info and pictures.

CBR would be my choice! My kids loved the pool and we had our own transportation at this site. Real nice and quiet and the bus stop was right out our door across the parking lot.
