DVC Chit Chat Thread

I put an offer in on a contract for 150 extra sleep around points (SSR), it was accepted and I signed last week and the sellers still haven’t signed (and now I have to wait thru the weekend). I know that’s not long in the scheme of things but it’s driving me nuts lol. I don’t even need the points till 2028 so theres no rush, but I’m just so impatient. Their names sound like older peoples names, so I’m thinking maybe they’re just having difficulty with the panda doc or something, idk. Most of my contracts are direct but I have bought resale twice before and both times the seller signed within 2 days. I’m fairly sure it’ll pass ROFR ($94 a point), and I’m just anxious to get on with it. Ugh.

Sounds like you’re just talking about the initial purchase agreement, not the closing docs. That would be frustrating. I’d want some sort of explanation from the broker. I think you’ve already been more the generous with letting them take this long. SSR contracts are plentiful, so I’d be tempted to start playing a little hardball, although if they have your deposit and you’re past your 10 days, you might be stuck (I think the 10 days starts ticking after the buyer signs, although not sure).

Haven’t paid the deposit yet, they said when it was signed by both parties they’d send me the link to pay. Yeah I’m going to contact the broker on Monday.

That’s good, more leverage. If they can’t give you a really good explanation and a firm timeline, I’d asked for compensation (lower price, someone paying for fees, etc.) or say you’re moving on. There’s too many SSR contracts out there to mess around. Chances are, if they can’t get the purchase docs signed, they’re going to have a tough time with the closing docs too.

And just like that, I have 3 nights in a 1BR at RIV over Presidents’ Day Weekend. 🤭 FARTs here we come!
We just went in January for the first time, it hadn't worked out previously with my work schedule.

We enjoyed it so much that we decided we are going every year. It was great strolling EPCOT seeing the art and being able to meet several of the artists. Luckily they offer shipping because traveling home with my purchases would have been a challenge.

The past few years we’ve been visiting during FARTS and we love it. I’ve been to every festival and it’s my favorite. The only issue is it can be so cold. The last two years we’ve had days touring the parks in hat and gloves! But I’ll take the cold over the heat any day.
It was cold for two of the days we went. It was still warmer than what I would have been experiencing in NJ, so I was one of the few people in shorts and a t-shirt. It was hilarious being next to people in jackets, hats, and gloves.

I feel Festival of the Arts is the only good festival left personally...

Food and Wine isn't really special anymore... just a few more food booths...

My favorite is Arts, and then Flower and Garden, then Christmas, and finally F&W...
It no longer has the personality like the other festivals do. They need to bring back celebrity chefs and the instructional events to make it more exciting.

This is us - agree 100%. We don't even bother with F&W time frame anymore, and try to do Festival of the Arts every year. It's easily the most interesting. Unfortunately, it's often the most expensive, too, as we have purchased a lot of the art over the years!! We also take 2, sometimes 3 days to sample all the great food options. We're already scheduled for late January to return again in 27!

Every so often I'm asked to show my ID when checking-out with AP or DVC discount.

One time when I was buying a Loungefly backpack and matching ears and a few more small things, the CM didn't want to see my Apple Wallet Disney MagicMobile Pass, but wanted me to open the DisneyWorld app and show my AP ticket in addition to seeing my ID.
Yeah, they better be able to “find” all that for me on my phone! Lol

Used to go out and party for fun on Friday nights. Now I have kids and I’m currently sitting here on a Disney forum laughing. Can’t make this stuff up. Guess it could be worse.
This statement proves that the answer to your User Name question is a resounding YES. And you're definitely a member of the DISboards DVC forums crew.
