Whats going on with Vera Bradley

Am I the only one disappointed in the 'new' pattern by VB for Disney? It just looks like a regular print but with a mickey head tossed into it. I LOVED the original two prints; the character made it. Now I'm not interested in buying any of the VB products.

While I like the two original patterns (Where's Mickey was not an original), I love that they are making regular Vera designs with a Disney twist. It will be much easier to get coordinating pieces, since there is such a limited number of Disney bag styles. The latest leaked Disney pattern is from Vera's Clementine pattern, and it is adorable. Should be released this fall.

Vera bradley is back on disneystore.com! As of 8:30 am they had midnight mickey.

This is why I ALWAYS check the disneystore.com on Monday mornings....seems to be the day for new Vera and Dooney to be listed. Gonna bet it is gone in a couple of days or less !:)

Oh my goodness! So thankful I ran across this post! Called my hubby and told him they were back online and since he was planning on getting me one for my birthday in Feb (and couldn't find it!) he told me to buy one before they sold out again! Then he told me to buy the duffel I wanted too for Mothers Day! Soooooo excited right now!

Ok, going to say it. My opinion and I'm allowed to have it.

What a rip off!

Do a "where's Waldo" with some Disney images on Vera Bradley patterns and then charge nearly twice for them (or more on EBay). Create an event with admission price so you pay even MORE $$$ .

Gives me the giggles.

Heading to Alaska for 2 weeks. Hubsters knows I'm addicted to Vera bags and said go play with the AMEX. VB sale at the VB store at the Mall. First piece 40% off, balance 20%. I got my traveler luggage , purse, cosmetic bags, lanyard for my Seapass card, wallet, eyeglass case, and tote for your Disney duffel and hipster cost.

Easy to say. My pattern is Midnight Blooms. Disney patterns haven't gotten me excited.

Still, I'm crazy for Vera and far prefer leaving the store with two of their jumbo bags vs. one Disney bag.

Oh yes, key ring too!

I don't get it.

Trying to scramble and get VB merchandise at World of Disney one time last year was the closest thing I have ever seen to the horror stories you hear about "Black Friday" after Thanksgiving. We were in the store for probably 45 minutes total, and within that timeframe, the CMs put out a couple of new armfuls of various VB merch. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the store, as I was allowed to roam aimlessly while wife and daughters stalked the VB area, waiting for a chance to get something...chances which were limited to just two or three minutes at a time before everything was taken again. They were able to get a couple of items that they liked, so everybody was happy I guess.

I can understand and appreciate the concept and appeal of limited edition merchandise, but the Ebay pirates are absolutely killing the rest of us who just want to get something from the original source. We got lucky in WoD that particular day, but there have been other times for other limited items supposedly available online (I realize some limited merch is event-only, etc.) where we've just been totally shut out. I guess that's part of the game, eh?!

Good for you for hitting the sale !:cool1: As for the Disney VB...I love it along with quite a few thousand other folks! As you said different strokes for different folks. Personally I don't get the vinyl animation craze but realize we all get to choose what to like or not like.

As for the brunch...this is my gift from DH for as he states " always having to deal with the house issues, dog issues etc.etc.etc. throughout his military and now airline career". Was 125.00 a wow price....yes...but considering it is a nice brunch, free vera gift ( which I have read that from other VB events can be really nice) and the hopes of having one of the vera founders possibly sign and photo op...I am all in !!:cheer2: since this is Disney...all "private events" always have a nice price. Just look at what a key to,the kingdom tour cost.

Just saw your post or I would have added it to my last post. I have sold some Dooney Bourke on eBay so I guess I would be considered one of those "pirates" ?. For example..I had a bag listed for 350.00 plus shipping.(bag cost me 292.00 with tax) After paying 37.00 in eBay fees, and 10.00 in PayPal fees the net to me...11.00 ! Had an offer for 270.00 since according to the offer that is what the tote was originally priced. (Obviously turned it down)

I understand that some people may see the eBay sellers as"pirates" but realize that the eBay seller is probably paying close to 14% in fees. Anybody selling a bag for the list price at the store is going to lose money even of they got a disney visa or DVC discount. If you google Disney personal shoppers you will see most charge an upfront fee of 20% for going to WDW store for the bags.

Bottom line I understand your frustration with eBay sellers and/or personal shoppers but if you can't get the bag yourself and you buy it online you are paying for someone else's time.

I had no idea Vera Bradley was so hard to get at Disney.

I like VB, but not enough to pay full price ... my daughter, on the other hand, fell IN LOVE with the Disney designs at Disney when we were there at the beginning of the month. The Midnight with Mickey is very cute in person IMO. The only thing my DD could afford on her budget was the id case ... so she bought one of those at World of Disney. She really, really, really wanted the mini hipster, but it was too pricey at $65.

The next day, I snuck into Mousegears while everyone was sampling soda @ Club Cool and bought the mini hipster for her birthday and had it sent back to our resort ... and when I was in line, I saw somebody use a coupon and started searching my purse for a quick service receipt ... sure enough, it had a coupon for 20% at Mousegears, so I was able to use it on the VB (even though it was 1:04pm ... guess I was in line by 1:00pm).

Talk about dumb luck.

Anyway, I hope everyone who really wants a bag is able to get one. Every time I saw the Vera Bradley stuff, there were always lots of people around, but most people just had one or two pieces total in their hands ... didn't see anyone buying up 2 of everything. Maybe the demand is dying down or the supply is up?

I was there last week and saw a ton of VB bags. Piles at DTD at world of Disney and a whole bunch at the Poly
Gift shop. Lots of styles.

I was waiting for the Where's Mickey pattern. Last December, all they had was the big duffle. I'm here now and there are a bunch. I bought the knapsack and love it. :) Perfect size for the parks( for me) and at home.

I'm not a big fan of Vera Bradley, but I loved the Where's Mickey pattern. My cousin was able to get me the large cosmetic bag in Disneyland so I was happy. My mom ordered me a large cosmetic bag as well for Xmas and I finally got it around April 1st. So I thought it was odd that they had enough left to fill online orders...I don't understand why they don't keep producing the patterns that everyone likes.

If you produce enough product then the folks on Ebay couldn't commit highway robbery and charge $175+ for a bag that was $30 to $50 dollars (just talking about some of the smaller ones!)

Thank you! It is about 4:30pm here in Michigan and it looks everything in Midnight Mickey is still available. I finally picked up a Hipster! I've been checking the website everyday! YAYAYAY! Hoping for good placement! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Mickey's Perfect Petals is much prettier, than the preview photos. IMO

I live near Fort Wayne, IN which is Vera Bradley's headquarters and attended the outlet sale recently. I spoke with a Vera Bradley employee who said that they were not expecting the demand for the Disney patterns. She said they would be continuing to put out new patterns and they are excited about their partnership with Disney. What's funny is that she is an employee at the factory and she still had to go to WDW to get a Disney bag. I'm hoping there will be something available by the time we get to WDW in November. By the way if you love Vera Bradley you should definitely get to the outlet sale sometime. It's a blast and you can get great deals. People come from all over the country and from foreign countries to attend this sale.

How are the prices at the regular outlet stores? I am planning to go to the one at the Premium Outlets on Vineland Road in a few weeks when I am at Disney. I hope they start another good sale for when I get there on May 12. I also have my birthday card discount as well. I will probably buy something in either the new Mickey's Perfect Petals or Midnight with Mickey. I need a phone wristlet of some kind and a keychain and id holder.

The factory sale is awesome but I don't understand people coming from all over to go to it. It would cost me way more in travel expenses, hotel, food, etc... than I would ever save getting my Vera fix. Shoot I could even buy at ebay prices for the hard to get pieces and still not spend as much. Maybe someone can explain this one to me. :confused3
