Tomorrow night is Drunko and I am taking a tuna spread and crackers.

OK, this is the second time I have seen you type this. At first, I thought it was a typo for Bunco. Now I have to know, is "Drunko" Bunco with drinks??? :rotfl: I am officially intrigued.

Here is a picture of dinner tonight...I made the asparagus carbonara.

Good evening peeps! I think I finally got a handle on my paperwork. My eyes feel crosseyed.

Becky I bet Laura and the kids were very surprised.

Aimee Stay safe I hate storms. We might be getting thunder storms here later for the last two days we have been in the middle 70's very unusual for these time of year.

Kathy What a wonderful tribute Kyle did for you. I read it at lunch but couldn't respond. I was all teary.

Laura I think I would have lost it for sure. Congrats on your tribute as well.

Sorry if I am short I can't remember what I wanted to say or too whom. Hopefully my eyes will focus.

Oh yeah!!! :woohoo: :teeth: It is quite fun with food, drinks, music and lots of laughter! And lots and lots of naughtiness too. :rolleyes1

Glynis - Gotta thank you again for the Pizza Meatloaf Muffin recipe - YUMMO!!:thumbsup2

It is a favorite in my home as well. A total :thumbsup2
:cool1: :cool1:

I'm sitting here listening to the tornado sirens - we're waiting on a HUGE storm to come through. I still have power so of course I'm DISing!!

Stay safe. Those big storms frighten me.

You have been buried so it's a good thing you came up for air.

We lost power a few times and got TONS of hail but it was just pea sized so hopefully didn't do too much damage. We now have a 3rd car so one had to sit on the street. We'll go out later and see if we can tell how bad it is.

It looked like snow in my backyard!

Really? just like beef? because I can cook beef. They say it is lower fat and cooks faster. Should a newbie like myself start with something easy like a slow cooker recipe? Do you find you need more salt & pepper or less compared to beef? Will ground elk be like 93% lean beef or even leaner?

TIA!

It is much lower in fat. Depending on the elk you might notice some gameyness or not. It just depends. Some things cook faster (roasts, etc.), and others don't (ground meat). As to your seasonings, that depends on your taste, and the gameyness of the meat. Elk roasts are great in the slow cooker, as are stews. Your ground meat will be really lean. Surprisingly lean. I like to use the ground stuff in casseroles and meatballs, etc.

I think you'll enjoy it! We were lucky enough to draw an elk cow tag one year, and DH got one that was still in "milk". It was the yummiest meat I've ever tasted!!!

Becky- Looks delicious...is this recipe posted already? Thanks.

Laura- enjoy this wonderful time with your hubby and the kids. Great timing during school vacation too!

Aimee- Did you make out okay with the storms?

WFD- Shopping day with Mom, so no cooking for me today. Yawn, Luke had me up at 4am today because he fell asleep real early last night...DISing now with my coffee!

TGIF !!!!

Good morning! Let me start out saying I didn't feel any earthquake here. Everything is fine here.

I'm still drinking my coffee so I haven't thought of dinner yet. I did try a new recipe last night it was pretty tasty. I'll post the recipe later when my eyes work.

Tonight it's leftover Kitty Sloppy Joes and Chips.

WFD at your house?

You ok this morning?

Good Morning!

Aimee, I hope you made out OK. Please let us know.

I think we will do take out of some sort. We will be painting this evening so something quick is in order.

Have a great day all!

Morning all--
I have a nail appt this morning, I will even get my toes done as it will be in the low 70's today so that means no socks and flip flops for me today!! My toes haven't seen the daylight since Florida in Dec!!! Then I will run a few errands afterwards.

I think I might follow Lauren's thought and do take out tonight. I think Ross has shared his cold with me as I have that scratchy throat feeling this morning, and I woke up with my "friend".....TGIF, ;)

Have a good morning!!

Gretchen------taxes are over now where are you??????????

Feel better Wendie. My toes are the same...I may go next week or slap a coat of that quick dry stuff on. My finger nails are still recovering from when I ripped the acrylics off back in Jan. I got frustrated that they kept breaking while we were tearing down the walls...

I'm sitting here listening to the tornado sirens - we're waiting on a HUGE storm to come through. I still have power so of course I'm DISing!!

Big news on my job front - our pastor is leaving. I have known for awhile but it wasn't public knowledge until this afternoon so I was waiting to post it. He has a great opportunity but it's yet ANOTHER saga to go through.

We ended up with BBQ takeout. It was tasty.

I wondered about you. The storm came by much later at our house. They did stop Jake's baseball game right before the end, as lightening was within 8 miles. We didn't get the grapefruit-sized hail that some people reported, just nickel-sized for us and I didn't hear any windows break.

We were miserable at the game, as the wind was blowing so much dust it almost looked like fog in the lights. Andrew is supposed to have a game tonight, so if it's not too wet it should be much more pleasant than last night's game.

WFD? Probably tamales I'll pick up from Central Market so we can eat before the game.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning all! Don't think I posted yesterday, but the Szcheuan Spicy Noodles were a hit. Last night's dinner was Kathy's Saucy Beef. This was a winner in our house. My sis was trying to figure out how much more she could eat, but save DH a little for when he got home from work. And how easy!!!

Tonight is a work dinner with DH. Usually they have nice outings for the employees and spouses, but tonight, not so much. It's a dinner theater place, and in theory, should be fine. But it's a buffet (also caters to the charter bus crowd:rolleyes: ) and NO ALCOHOL. I can't even make it throug dinner with a glass of wine. :sad2: Send happy thoughts my way--I might just have to eat before we go.

Wendie- Feel better and get rest this weekend.

Marcij- I'm glad that you are all right after that storm. Games this time of year are so sketchy, weatherwise.

Stephanie- in this house DH might have gone hungry if he was not home at dinnertime :lmao:

I don't know about dinner tonight. I have errands and will think about it later.

Has anyone heard from Janice and the rest of our IL friends? There was an earthquake and I am worried that it may have been near them.
