Wow, our thread has gone international all of a sudden! Scotland & Belgium! We're just spreading Food Love across the world! :goodvibes
Welcome BriarMom & Scotlass!

Did you make any changes to the greek burger recipe? And did you use the quinoa or bulghur for the tabouli?

Woo-Hoo to going international! I second the welcome! (I guess I just didn't notice before. :rolleyes1 )

I know Beck used quinoa for the tabouli. She hates bulghur wheat. I'll remind her that you asked if she made changes. Her work and life schedule is such that sometimes she has lots of free time, and at other times she has very little.

Thanks Laura, Her pics have me craving that meal! I never tried quinoa for tabouli, if I can find it at the grocery, I will have to try it! Those turkey patties were so good, but I know if she made any changes it's bound to be fabulous.

I agree with your recommendation on the lemon spaghetti, glad you mentioned it!

liamandcaili and shovan thanks........BUT !!!

i have lurked for a while and eventually posted last week for help and i think the lemon spaghetti could be an easy start.BUT...yes,another but...i really, really need idiot proof instructions.

Kathy What are Magotinis?

I think we are having chicken scalapini and roasted asparagus.

Becky You can pack airline food for us too we are traveling in July.:rotfl2:

So sorry, yes I meant Mangotinis!:rotfl2:

I am pretty sure the recipe was posted on the old thread. Here it is again (this is from memory, so Beck, please confirm this is correct!):

Thanks so much Laura...:goodvibes

Lauren - Thanks again for the amazing spaghetti sauce recipe, I LOVE this stuff.:thumbsup2 We're waiting for Kyle to get home to eat, but Johnny & I have been lifting the lid and sneaking a taste. Sammie has already had some.:lmao: My dog does not normally eat table food but she does love spaghetti sauce so she got a couple spoonfuls on her food.:goodvibes

We're having Magotinis right now, well deserved after a very rough baseball weekend.;)

I am so glad that you like it. It really is easy just a little time consuming. I am also glad that the boys and Sammie like it too! I have been feeding Riley a little too much they tell me. I have him on a diet too.

Mangotinis...yum! We have enduldged a little too much this weekend and have to get back on the program. Ugh, weight loss rots!

Finally gonnae try something.

Lemon spaghetti.....easy?

Let us know how it comes. I have never made it but the gals have been raving about it.

If you ever need help, let us know.

I have not made this but I do have the recipe and it looks like one that would be an easy start. I have to tell you that when it comes to cooking you need to give yourself permission to make a mistake. It is all fine in the end but the worst thing that can ever happen is that you need to eat a sandwich instead and that is okay. If you ever feel that you cannot do this or that everyone around you can outcook you just come back here and ask for a few stories. We could curl your hair with some of the mishaps that have occurred. For the most part the recipes here are everyday meals that are not complicated. If you have any questions just ask, someone is usually checking in and will try to help. Now enjoy your kitchen and let us know how you are doing.

I stopped at my favorite Chinese restaurant for Sweet & Sour Chicken...yum! :thumbsup2

Evening all....We spent most of the day digging out from the snow yesterday. I also had some hard moments today as well.....I really don't care for Sundays ever since my mom passed away on one....crazy I know, but it is what it is. My dad spent a lot of today on the phone with me as well......In his mail yesterday was the bill from the hospital from her last day.......:sad1:

Nancy--I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of Buddy's aunt.....please accept my heartfelt sympathy.....all of you will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Becky--I am bowing to you right now....:worship: ...the boxed lunch was something I would totally love.....I love cheese, pickles, and olives for a supper, so your combo was perfect. I also meant to comment about how vibrant your salad photo was from yesterday.....I can't wait for my farmers market to start.......(sad as it is soooo far away)

Lauren--your remodel is looking great!! I am right there with you on getting back on track on the eating......after a bottle of wine yesterday and then chinese today......tomorrow is back on the wagon........weight wise and health wise as highblood pressure and heart disease runs in my family.

I am sure I missed a bunch......I Mean well, lol....................

We had a late lunch of Chinese take out so dinner was multigrain toast.....and lots of water!!

See you tomorrow friends!!

OH Kat.....that is rough... ....I am sure you are right and it is due to Katrina. Dad was a wreck as this statement had on it the cost of the bronchoscopy and that is what killed my mom...........I don't know....:sad2: :sad1:

 uggggggggggghh......hi everyone!

I just got home from walk-in clinic, I have bronchitis! we have all been very sick since our vacation. Ron is just getting it, Luke is almost done with his amoxicyllin and he has a runny little nose. Gotta love puffs plus!

We have not had a normal meal here in days!

Ann

Evening from beautiful Asheville, NC! Gorgeous here - I need to move, I think. We have a mountain view from our room.

Tonight we ate with a bunch of friends from the East Coast at some american food place. Reminded me of Ruby Tuesdays. I had a triple treat thing, which was not that good, but we didn't pick it so we didn't complain =)

Several of us have been through that and it is indeed hard times! As Kathy said if you need to talk, we are here for you! I don't know if it's worse down here due to the big K or if it's just the state of health care. We too received statements are still receiving statements from the loss of Bob's Mom & his stepmom in '05 & 06. Pm me if you need to chat.

Well, since that is one of Kathy/Tigerkat recipes, I would say give it a try! She has been dubbed the Queen of Easy, here on the WFDT! ;) ;)

I would also recommend those turkey chimichangas posted by Nancy, if you have those ingredients available.

Please tell us a little more about yourself & what's available to you in the grocery shopping dept! We'd all love to help you get cooking!!!:goodvibes

How about fajitas? Can you get peppers, onions, avocados?

Yeah, I am thinking fajitas. As soon as I posted the question, I remembered a great fajita recipe I used when we lived in Egypt. I *think* I found the recipe on Food Network. Only problem here is that the avacados will be super hard right now. I think they have frozen :scared: guac here.

For the PP who asked, we live in Belgium.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

The food of Belgium!? :rotfl: You know chocolate and beer? Belgium's is the best.;)
Hmm. Now you have me thinking I need to get a cookbook about Belgian food. I don't know that there is a real specialty here. Our favorite restaurant here is Italian. We don't go out to eat much, as the dollar is so poor. I do know that there are a lot of fritteries (french fry places) and mussels seem to be very popular.

Today I am making Glynis Roast, carrots, mashed potatoes, and trying something new: roasted broccoli.

WFD at your house?

A quick morning check in......I have to do my grams bills today and run some errands for ourselves as well. Trying to get some stuff done as it looks like we are in for some Icy weather mid week....argh!!!

Sheryl--Thank you!!

Supper will be something with boneless pork chops as that is what I took out of the freezer this morning.....not sure how I am cooking them,
or what is going with them.........

Have a great day all!!
