Nancy, Great news re: Timmy and Chris! :thumbsup2

Well, when the pretty little hostess says it, with her accent, it's sort of a clipped long O. That doesn't stop you from worrying about your Jerseyian pronuciation does it? ;)

I SCREWED UP MY QUOTE THINGY AGAIN!!!!!!!

Sheryl, No worries here! I screw up alot of pronunciations with my Fran Drescher/Tony Soprano/Melanie Griffith Jerseyian accent anyway! ;)

Nancy all I can offer is :grouphug:

Sheryl I couldn't write a dining review to save my life so what ever you right is great with me. I love pictures.

Lauren Do what I do, "I want to make a dining reservation at the other restaurant in AKL not Boma you know the other one ... Yes that's it":rotfl2:

I did that when I wanted LeCellier. Feel free to use my method. ;)

Okay, here's my pics & review of Raglan Road! I'll do Jiko tomorrow.

Raglan Road was really a very pleasant surprise! In fact it was awesome! I'm so glad Lauren had told us how much they enjoyed it! Otherwise I don't know if we would have tried it. Thanks, FRAN uh Lauren!!!! ;) :thumbsup2

First of all, it's a pub right? So of course we had beer! Bob & I both chose a different beer flight.
IMG_0210.jpg

We enjoyed the beer flight, but it was confusing to remember which beer was what. I think we might have been happier if we had ordered the beer we know we like. For DH that would have been a Black & Tan, half Harp Ale with half Guinness. Because that's what he did with the ale & the guinness! Combined them to make his Black & Tan.:confused3 ;)

I thought I took pics of every dish but some are missing. Maybe with the beer coming first, I just got confused. ;)

Bob ordered the Colcannon soup which was delicious! Super creamy potato, bacon & cabbage soup. Sounds plain but with the bacon and cabbage taking center stage! Very different from any soup I've tasted. Yuum!

I ordered just appetizers which came out with DH's & Mom's entrees. However I didn't get to eat much of this, after my Mom tasted it, she went on & on about how good it was! And how she should have ordered that instead of the baked salmon! I ended up giving her my smoked salmon appetizer and I ate her baked salmon. The baked smoked salmon was so good too, it had a maple glaze on it & was served with mashed potatoes. Sorry I don't have a pic of that one.

But here's a pic of the yummy smoked salmon appetizer. It was the traditional smoked salmon served with capers, shallots, creme fraiche and good crunchy bread. Simple but when done with great ingredients like this one, absolutely wonderful!

This is the other appetizer I ordered that I did get to enjoy most of.
Breaded & Fried Goat's Cheese over a salad of mixed baby green's with walnuts and raspberries with a rasberry viniagrette. The goat cheese was crusty on the outside and soft with gooey deliciousness oozing out! The walnuts were sweetened & lightly spiced. All together this dish was a big hit with me!

Bob ordered the Paddy's Pork:
IMG_0220.jpg

Pork loin stuffed with sausage, served over leeks, cabbage and mashed potatoes. It also had a sweet glaze. The pork loin could have been a bit more tender, but was moist & the sausage stuffing was very flavorful. This was very good but not quite as good as either one of the salmon dishes.

The one dish I AM SO SORRY that I didn't get a pic of was the Bread & Butter Pudding!!! This dessert was unbelievable! The bread pudding was served in a huge coffee cup (that it appeared to have been baked in). It was served in a large plate with two little pitchers, one with a caramel sauce and the other had a sweetened clotted cream sauce! Oh my goodness, this was so delish! How they did that bread pudding I would love to know! It was so light but also smooth and creamy, with raisins speckeled all through the pudding. And the sauces were just amazing! That cream sauce was something special! It was a sweetened super rich thick cream, It had just the right amount of sweetness to complement the pudding but not over power it. Raglan Road would be worth the trip just for the bread pudding!

If the great food wasn't enough, there is also the wonderful Irish music & dancing to enjoy while you're eating!

Janice, You are too funny! :goodvibes I never say Le Cellier right...Andrew always corrects me!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Holy Crap Sheryl! I cannot wait to go back to Raglan! That is my all time favorite restaurant! 6/22 cannot come soon enough! I didn't take any pics while there but that bread pudding...OMG! Too die for! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Sheryl the fried goat cheese looks soo good. I not sure I would eat anything after that beer flight.:faint:

kimluvswdw I hope you feel better.

I am off to make my baby boy tilapia which he had to come over and look at before I could get a nod. He's afraid I'm trying to feed him the salmon again :confused3.

I have to post dinner review tonight for Lauren and Tom. We had pasta pomodoro (my version) and potato crusted chicken breast with a green salad.

It was really good. I used boneless breast and coated it with a minuscule amount of olive oil and then seasoned potato flakes with granulated garlic, parsley flakes, onion powder, pepper and salt. I baked it for 20 minutes, at 375 on a Pam sprayed pan.Bow Tie pasta with bruschetta. Erica figured 7 points for a filling meal.

Now the pasta is also very good with chopped sun dried tomatoes and baby spinach added at the very end to wilt it and of course I used to add extra garlic and fresh Parmesan with rotisserie chicken, but I did not want to throw the girls under the bus. It is a great summer meal.

Nancy, This really sounds like it's going to be one of those weddings! Good thing for you, that puffy sleeves are out! ;)

Hey y'all, I have a question? I know Lauren want's to see & hear about the WDW restaurant's we did on this last trip. Does anyone mind if I do a short rest. review here? I only have some pics, just of Raglan Road & Jiko. Not enough to do a "real" review, but I don't want to bore anyone that's not interested either.

Are you kidding??? You have to ask???? I so want to hear about the food!!! Post away, my friend, post away!!!

My stir fry came out really good. The sauce recipe I used was pretty awesome. It was like a mu shu sauce.

Here is the original recipe for the sauce:

2 tbs Hoisin Sauce
1 tbs soy sauce
1 tsp rice vinegar
1/4 cup chicken broth, low sodium
1 tbs corn starch

Here is how I made the sauce and Chicken Stir Fry (serves 4):

Sauce:
4 tbs hoisin
2 tbs soy sauce
3 tsp cooking sherry
1/2 cup water
2 tbs corn starch
1/2 tsp garlic powder
***Mix all together and set aside

I used 4 chicken breast (12 oz - 16 oz), very thinly sliced (slice while partially frozen to get really thin)

I cut up whatever vegetables I had (4 - 5 cups): broccoli, carrots, green beans, onion, celery, baby corn

In a hot wok, add 1 tbs olive oil. Swirl around pan and discard excess. Quickly stir fry chicken until white...does not have to be thoroughly cooked. Remove from pan and set aside.

Wipe out wok and add another tbs of oil. Add vegetables and stir fry for about 5 minutes. If not cooked to your liking, add about 4 tablespoons of water to the pan and stir fry more (adding the water will steam the veggies). DO NOT OVER COOK VEGGIES

Add chicken back to wok and add sauce. Stir fry to incorporate all ingredients and finish cooking (about 3 - 5 minutes).

Serve with rice.

Sounds great...thank you! :thumbsup2 Its always great to get meal ideas that are ww friendly.

Nothing. I don't feel well.

I hope you feel better.

The Sausage, pepper, and onion sloppy joe was a hit... it eas very good... I used green peppers though but it was still very good....

Tonight it's leftover chili and cornbread.

WFD at your house?

ETA: If you will notice, we have an index :cheer2: I am only up to page 27. I hope to get it completely updated today. Sorry I didn't keep one from the beginning. I figured our old thread would be back looooooong ago.

Good Morning,
last night was a bust, got busy doing bookkeeping and cathcing up on housework so dinner was a 0. Got it all cooked but never ate.

Formrcastmbr- That chicken sounds great, do you have any measurements or do you just eyeball it?

More snow in the forecast today, was thinking that I may just throw a pot roast in the crockpot and be done with it.

:yay: Thanks Lindsay! I was hoping we would have the old thread back by now as well. I'm sooo glad you're working on the index. I searched page-by-page yesterday trying to remember if you had posted Rachael Ray's Fajita -Tortilla Soup on this thread or the old one. I finally gave up and thankfully found it on her website. I needed the ingredient list to make sure I had everything on hand before I got home.

WFD tonight? Haven't been inspired yet.

Good Morning All!

We are going to weight watchers tonight so I needed something easy. We are having ziti with marinara sauce, ricotta and fresh mozzarella. I also bought some nice Italian bread.

Tom is home today working on the fireplace. As you guys know, we are in the process of refacing it. Well, when the fireplace was originally done, they did not brace the bricks correctly on top so they started falling. So, we need to reinforce them then proceed. What fun! Sheryl, you sure Mario does not want to come and help? ;)

I will revise the recipe a bit to make it more understandable on the previous post but to answer your question, it was pretty eye balled except for the sauce.

Thank you! :worship: You OK?

Last night we had chili and cornbread.

Tonight we are having BLTs on refrigerated biscuits.

Lindsay - thanks for the index.
