We usually do cinnamon rolls which the kids love. But this year we have overnight guests so I need a few more things. Maybe a strata that I can prepare the night before along with those sausage balls someone just posted. They sound really good.

What about you?:santa:

I always make a sausage/egg casserole (its the one that has to sit overnight) when we get home from Christmas eve service. We put this in the oven while we open gifts Christmas morning.

I would love a good strata recipe so if anyone has one to share....

We make monkey bread before we open gifts and take a break during opening to eat it. We often have a sausage / egg casserole dish for brunch after gifts are done.

Reservations - we'll be in Florida!:santa: :yay:

The past few years I have made it a tradition to make gingerbread waffles. This year DH has to be to work at 6 a.m. and I don't know if I will bother to make them for just DD and I. Perhaps we will have them the next morning when DH can enjoy them with us. :lovestruc They are delicious, though.

Coffee.. Then we'll see how it goes from there..:rotfl::rotfl::santa:

the usual:

Pillsbury cinnamon rolls - the orange icing kind!
baked oatmeal with fruit
either a baked egg casserole or a baked french toast

ETA: C. Ann is right!!! - coffee first!!!!:goodvibes with eggnog for me!:santa:

Well, the sausage cheese balls from the other thread are tempting me, I will probably try them. If not, some type of egg casserole.

I will also pick up some wonderful homemade cinnamon buns topped with cream cheese icing.

Oh, and plenty of coffee!!!!!

Make Ahead Gingerbread Pancakes

1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
1 Tbsp. ground ginger
4 cups buttermilk pancake mix, complete
2 1/3 cups water mixed with 1/2 cup molasses

Stir spices in pancake mix, then add the molasses mixture just until moistened. Heat lightly oiled griddle or non-stick skillet over medium heat. Drop 3 Tbsp. batter for each pancake. Cook 4-5 minutes, turning once until puffed and lightly browned. Cool on wire racks, then freeze on cookie sheets until firm. Freeze in airtight containers with waxed paper between layers.

To serve: Heat oven to 350. Place frozen pancake directly on oven racks Bake 5 minutes or until hot.

We like to eat these with maple syrup and Reddi Whip. These pancakes are perfect for Christmas morning because all you have to do is pop them in the oven.

can you guys share your recipes??
thanks!

Pour 1 cup of water in reservoir of one-cup coffemaker.. Add one scoop of Folgers coffee to filter. Close lid - place cup under coffeemaker. When coffee is brewed, remove cup and add cream and sugar if desired..

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Sorry - I couldn't resist.. Just feeling silly this morning :santa:

I think there was a pretty long thread here a week or so ago with lots and lots of Christmas morning recipes in it.. I can't remember the title though or I would try to find it for you..:santa:

Southwest spicy sausage and egg casserole (one you sit overnight) with cranberry orange scones and mixed fruit.

Of course coffee and eggnog are there if you'd like them.

Sausage cheese balls and muffins.

I know, very sparse but it will just be DH, the kids and I for breakfast. Then we need to be at my dad's at 11:00ish and are having a buffet of sorts there for lunch.

Could you share your sausage egg casserole recipe?

for breakfast I make:
*Chocolate Crepes with Nutella-my DH and I started when we were 1st married and lived in Germany and now they are our favorite moring treat
*French Toast Casserole (this is an overnight one-recipe is here:
http://www.breakfast-and-brunch-recipes.com/frenchtoastrecipe.html )
*Cinnamon rolls

We do a brunch for our family so we also have a Ham, cheese platter, Brie baked in Ouff pastry with Boysenberry preserves, and my family brings other goodies. :santa:

We will probably be home for Christmas morning this year, so I'll probably make monkey bread and a make ahead egg casserole of some sort. This is my usual recipe but I vary it. Sometimes I add ham or mushrooms or whatever I happen to have.

1/2 pound sausage, cooked and drained
broccoli, cooked and drained
1 teaspoon mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk or half and half
6 slices white bread, toasted and cut into cubes
12 oz. cheese, shredded

Beat eggs and milk until well mixed. Add rest of ingredients (reserving some cheese for top) and pour into casserole dish. Top with extra cheese. Refrigerate overnight. Bake covered in 350 degree oven for 50-60 minutes, uncover and bake until set and lightly browned on top.

The quickie breakfast (before opening gifts) will likely be poptarts and maybe some crescent rolls with chocolate.

Haven't decided on the bigger breakfast for after gifts.

That's a good one - because there's no prep in the morning..:thumbsup2

Wasn't there a similar one for baked french toast on that other thread that I can't find here?
