What's Everyone Making for Christmas Morning?

My family used to do sausage rolls. One quick way to do them is use Pillsbury cresent rolls, cut the triangles in half and wrap around a cooked sausage link.

My DH, DD & I usually just do cinnamon rolls, coffee, hot tea and milk.

I make a breakfast pizza. I don't have a "true" recipe. I just put some things together. Doesn't take long to make and it's fun. :)

I always make a huge Christmas breakfast for our family (including grandparents and great-grandparents). Every year I say I'm not going to go overboard with the menu, and every year I end up cooking way too much. I usually cook:
French toast casserole (put together the night before)
Biscuits
Sausage
Ham
Bacon
Eggs
Grits
Hash Brown Casserole

Does anyone know if you can cook grits in a crockpot?

I always make a sausage/egg casserole (its the one that has to sit overnight) when we get home from Christmas eve service. We put this in the oven while we open gifts Christmas morning.

ditto here....with blueberry muffins ;)

bacon, canadian bacon, scrambled eggs, waffels, toast and coffee. it is one of the few breakfasts cooked in our house. usually when we have breakfast food it is for supper, think Perkins...............

Mimosas! :thumbsup2

Probably just cinammon rolls since we'll be having a big brunch at noon. If we eat later in the day, I usually make some type of breakfast casserole.

You should be able to or at least prepare them and put in the crock pot to keep warm. They are kept in large steamer trays at places that serve them. If they start getting to thick just add some hot water to them.

Don't know about acutally cooking them in the crock pot, but there is a small diner close by that serves breakfast. They cook thier grits in a large pot and then transfer them over to a crock pot. She keeps them hot from well before daylight until almost luch time,

Our menu:

Sausage/Egg Casserole
French Toast
Fruit Salad
Ham
Cinnamon Rolls
Warm Gingerbread with whipped topping
Sausage Balls and/or Pigs in a Blanket

Way too much food for 5 (missing one ds and his wife this year), but everyone has a favorite that they don't want to give up.

Birthday cake. We have made a birthday cake for Jesus every year. We sing happy birthday too. The kids love having cake for breakfast!

We do that in the afternoon, when all my Mom's great-grandkids are together.

Yum! I might have to try the Main St. french toast recipe. On Xmas morning, we usually make monkey bread but are thinking of Paula Deen's gorilla bread:
Gorilla Bread
Recipe courtesy Paula Deen

Prep Time:10 minInactive Prep Time:--Cook Time:30 minLevel:
Easy Serves:
12 to 14 servings.
Ingredients
•1/2 cup granulated sugar
•3 teaspoons cinnamon
•1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
•1 cup packed brown sugar
•1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
•2 (12-ounce) cans refrigerated biscuits (10 count)
•1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Spray a bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray. Mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over low heat, stirring well; set aside. Cut the cream cheese into 20 equal cubes. Press the biscuits out with your fingers and sprinkle each with 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon sugar. Place a cube of cream cheese in the center of each biscuit, wrapping and sealing the dough around the cream cheese. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the nuts into the bottom of the bundt pan. Place half of the prepared biscuits in the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, pour half of the melted butter mixture over the biscuits, and sprinkle on 1/2 cup of nuts. Layer the remaining biscuits on top, sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon sugar, pour the remaining butter mixture over the biscuits, and sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of nuts. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool for 5 minutes. Place a plate on top and invert.

The inlaws bring bagles and cream cheese. My parents bring lox and white fish. (Yeah, we celebrate christmas, but we are obviously half Jewish!!)
I'll make eggs, bacon, sausage, and cinnamon rolls from the freezer section. I tried to make them from scratch one year, fell asleep while they were rising, and they.... over came the kitchen counter!!!!

Can anyone post their hashbrown casserole, please.

Everything sounds so good. I'm going to have to try some of ya'll recipes.

We always did that after Midnight Mass when I was a kid.. :santa:

This is my monkey bread recipe. I do the biscuits the night before, then make the butter/sugar syrup the morning of and bake. There are tons of different recipes for monkey bread but they're all good.

4 tubes refrigerated biscuit dough
3/4 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup white sugar

Mix together 3/4 cup sugar and cinnamon and put in large Ziploc bag. Cut biscuits into 4 pieces. Add a handful of biscuit pieces to Ziploc bag and shake until well coated. Place biscuits into greased bundt pan. Repeat until you've used all the biscuits and all the sugare. Melt butter and add 3/4 cup sugar, cook until bubbly and sugar is dissolved. Pour mixture over biscuits. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes.

OK, NOW I know what Monkey bread is!!! LOL I've made a version of this with orange zest and a little orange juice. Got it from Paula Dean - its so easy, maybe I'll make this too!

I was excited to make the baked french toast from this thread for Christmas morning and when I mentioned it to my kids, they said they wanted cinnamon buns in a can instead. Go figure.
