Whats coming soon??

Yeah I would agree the DVC folks are probably laughing at all of us since they are the keeper's of the secret. I too wonder where the Jan 15th 'announcement' date came from too? Guess we will all just have to wait and see what the new news is....

Ya know, that looks like quite a bit of open land around and behind that billboard... any chance that "coming soon" is an indicator that what is "inside" the present is actually what is behind it? A new DVC in that location?


Hrmm...

Actually right behind that sign, not too far, is the World Showcase. I "flew" over the area, using Google Earth when this thread started and it is amazing how close Epcot is to OKW and Buena Vista Dr.

I don't think there is enough space for a DVC near that sign.

You Diser's (some of you) hit the nail on the head. The "coming soon" is the key.
It is NOT an advertisement on # of members, another perk, etc. Another perk would pertain only to us owners, and not the "masses" at WDW...

So, it has to be SOMETHING ON PROPERTY as it could not be DVC Calif, as a billboard would be in Calif as well..

Don't think Hawaii either, that would be for us owners to know... Imagine a non DVC'er driving and seeing "Hawaii now available", they would go "huh"??

So, it has to be something on property, for them to say "coming soon" and to the "masses", NOT just DVC members.........

'What's coming soon' is a new 3-D permanent billboard advertising DVC to replace the temporary 'What's coming soon' billboard!!!!

Oh, and rest assured, DVC DOES read the DISboards. Not sure if they post, but I definately know they read them. Actually, my guide told me that some of the threads come up in their sales meetings.

I can picture it now... the guides reading the boards and then wagering, "How many calls do you think we'll get today to confirm this?"

Well at least they know the obvious now... That a CR or Poly VILLA would sell REALLY well with current owners.

It must have taken you alot of time and energy to make them!

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but that billboard went up in stages. First a plain background. Then the ribbon and bow. Then the 'coming soon' and 'best kept secret'. It took several days, vs the one day it would normally take for a billboard to be erected elsewhere.

I think that was part of the 'tease' and look how well the tease has worked here.

But I have to agree with Horace Horsecollar and I said it in earlier posts. HOWEVER I would be so pleased to be proven wrong in the end.....

Yep. And I may be in the minority but I find that more than a little LAME.

Standard outdoor advertising billboards, in which pre-printed sheets are attached to the billboard, can be put up very quickly.

One-of-a-kind billboards, such as the Tower of Terror billboard at WDW, take longer.

I have asked a couple of the park kiosk DVC guides about that sign this trip. They too are in the dark about what it could be. They are speculating right along with us!
