DW has been getting some info for a possible family gathering (ugh!) in early November. Mainly looking for 2 bdrms at BWV. Nothing available, however, there is one 2-bdrm available at SSR and one at OKW. Ok... it is F&W time... expected. Then CM tells Mary Beth that we could get three THVs for that time. WHAT! HOW... is there any TreeHouse available for any time in the near future. I don't get it...? I would have thought THVs were waiting list only!

WOW is right, Rob. I wonder if they just released some, and she called at the right moment? Otherwise, maybe people not hanging out on the boards all of the time :rolleyes1 just don't know about them yet? That may make sense since we don't have our 2009/2010 planners yet. :confused3

Yeah that makes no sense. There was only one 2 br at SSR, yet 3 THVs? Thats amazing, I hope you grabbed one Rob!

No, we didn't grab one. This whole thing will likely become a new thread at a later date. We're talking 25+ people. And there are sooo many variables... A logistical nightmare to say the least. I don't see this working out for this year.

Wow, can we say " Two Grand Villas!!"........:lovestruc

the transportation has made several DVCer's change to the regular SSR.

the buses only bring you to the spring bus stop - not the parks.

would think you might be able to get BLT. It should have 2-bedrooms - GV not sure - but definitely 2-bedrooms.

the standard view at BLT is close to the same point requirement as BWV preferred view - Sun to Thurs. (only at times a point or two more)

oh the reason - monrail access to Epcot for the food/wine

:scared1: We limit our party to four people and even that can be tough sometimes. Getting the extended family together at Christmas can last me for several years. :goodvibes

25+ people Rob...good luck. pixiedust:

I think you and Mary Beth need to do some serious arm bending in the Green Cabin while you are at VB to discuss this. :yay:

It's not our idea it's DMIL... :sad2:

She wants to visit Disney before EOL, and will pay much or most of costs to bring the family.

Actually, the number is looking more like 19... Piece of cake! :upsidedow

BWV Dreaming- I've coordinated several larger (15+) trips, and it can be a lot of fun. It really helps to get some committment from people, but you'll always get the last minute changes. Once air fare is booked, you can usually breathe a sigh of relief. Next year, I have 2 larger trips planned-wish me luck! I'll be sending you some pixie dust to get you through this.

Thanks for all the pixie dust........but I think you have the wrong poster. Disdaydreamer is the one with the megafamily. Most of my Soprano relatives would rather frequent Vero Beach and chair hog with their towels!! No family reunion vacations here!!:sad2:

First, I think many are overestimating the demand of the THV. Second, DVC will declare units over time and so as new units come online, they will be available above and beyond the points sold.

I also think bunk beds are a negative...this will only appeal to those with children (and young children at that). Also, I've read that parking is not close by the THV. So there is still a ways to move all your luggage up to the unit.:sad2:

I agree.

I've been thinking about THV as an option if we invite another family, but except for the beautiful woodsy setting a regular 2 BR might work better for us. There would be two families, each with just one 7 y/o girl, so the bunks would work okay.

But then, I look at an OKW 2 BR -- more room, fewer points -- and I'm not so sure OKW wouldn't work better. The other couple would have a queen in any event ... and we could have the girls sleep in the other queen in their room! :rotfl2:

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but someone said the buses only bring you to the Springs. Does that mean you then have to wait for the bus to the parks? I think we will be renting a car if that is the case.:confused3

the THV buses brings you the Spring bus stop - the springs is the last bus stop to the parks.

so would definitely get a car or just move to regular 2-bedroom at SSR.
