What year was your first trip to WDW??

Just curious as to when most DISers took their first trip to WDW. Ours was 1975 and we camped out at a Holiday Inn campground nearby. My aunt & grandparents couldn't stand WDW, but thankfully my parents, brother, and I were hooked!! We've enjoyed many vacations since and now I'm enjoying them with my DH & DD!

My first trip to WDW was 5 years ago...I was 35 years old. Took my 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter.

I was thrilled. My husband had been there before with friends prior to us getting married. I had never been ANYWHERE as a child.

I cried when I saw the castle at MK. I cried when I saw Tinkerbelle fly by during the fireworks show. I cried during the fireworks come to think of it.

I lived in FL as a child and went lots of times during the 70s after the park opened. Imagine my surprise upon reaching adulthood and having to pay my own way at how expensive it was to go to Disneyworld.

My first trip was in 1998-1999, we were down there for New Years. It was crowded, but very fun!!

My first WDW trip was in 1973, with my parents and big brother. I was 7 at the time. We were on the way to Miami- we were moving to Puerto Rico from Ohio. We took a couple of days to do Disney- it was great!!!

Our first trip will be 7/3 through 7/7 this year. We've had to change it a couple of times but I called today and made our ADRs so it is NOT getting changed again!

Our first trip was December 1999. It was a belated honeymoon for us. We had gotten married two years earlier but didn't really have the money for a big honeymoon at the time. DH went on that trip because he knew it would make me happy to finally go to WDW....we were not there one full day before he was telling me that we HAD to come back! Thus the obsession begins....

Ours was 74 or 75, we had just moved to New Orleans, and my parents realized it was ONLY 10 hours away by car, so off we went. Don't remember much about it, as I was in the TEEN years, and didn't really want to be there - you remember those days, don't you?

Unfortunately, didn't make it back until 1988. Since then, we've been back 5 or 6 times, and plan to go every year until our kids hit those miserable "TEEN" years.

My first trip was in late December 1971. Of course I was only 6 weeks old at the time so I can't really say how I enjoyed it I guess I must of liked it enough that I keep going back.

2005....I thought I was some sort of mutant when I told people it was my first trip. was the general reaction. I think 31 is a great age for your first Disney trip.

(32 for your second, 33 for your third~ you get the idea)

My first trip was June 1972. I was 11, my sister was 9 and my brother was 1. Unfortunately I didn't go back again until 1983, a few months after I got married, but I've now been a total of 22 times!

1975, I was four. My parents took me on vacation and left my 2 yr old brother at home with the grandparents . My kids have each been befor their third birthdays, so hubby feels out of the loop since he was 26 the first time I took him.

1987 with my parents. Unfortunately, they did not catch the magic like I did, so they had no desire to return. That was the first place I wanted to go to after I got married, so I finally returned 10 long years later!!!! I then made a trip with my first son, then with my second child and now plan to go at least every other year!! I don't think I'll ever get tired of going!!

Back in the early years! 1975.. my parents LOVED Florida, and WDW was no exception. I can remember staying at The Dutch Inn, which is now The Grovesner (sp?)

My first trip was 1978..i was 2 years old. I have gone back at least once a year since then. I started taking my first daughter when she was 8 months old and since then have gone twice a year. We now have 3 daughters and it will be my newest baby's first trip in Feb..she will be 2 months old.

My first trip was 1978. I was just 2 years old. My family went at least once a year after that.

And once I met DH, we started traveling to Disney together almost every year (took a year off when I was pregnant... )

First went to the world in March of 1979 I was 14 yo and was on an extended trip to visit family in Fla. we had an uncle who actually worked for disney as a electrician and we had passes so we would'nt have to get E tickets It was Great even though at the time I was stuck with what my 14yo brain thought was the lamest parents any kid could ever have

Now ff ahead here we are planning our 6th trip for our son who's eight and daughter who is two and the same lame parents who seem much cooler now.

Their first trip to the world with our family and I can't wait to see how my Father will act when our little ones say gee grandpa I really want that _____

I first went to WDW at the age of 4 in 1978. I remember having a blast and can confirm that from the family pictures. We went every year for the next two years until we moved down to Florida. Then we started going a few times a year. That lasted 3 years until we moved up to Ohio. Then I think we took a break for like 5 years and started up agin with once every 2 years or so. Now with my own family we have been fortunate enough to buy into DVC and have gone once a year for the past four years.

My first trip was in October 2002. We stayed at POFQ for 9 days. At that time my kids were 27 months,9 and 13. We had a truely magical time!!
My second trip was 12/8-12/12/05. I went with just my 27 month old and 5 year old. We stayed at the Poly with a friend and her two girls.
Our third trip will be 12/13-12/26/06!!!! We are so excited!! I have two rooms booked at Pop. My kids will be 17, 13, 6 and 3.

The first time my ds, dh, dbil, dm and I went was 2 years ago!! lol

I had ALWAYS wanted to go as a child... But my parents were under the preconcieved and general myth that WDW was tooooo expensive.. My dm out of the blue apologized in April to me saying had she of known then what she knew she knows now.. lol " For goodness sakes we even had a RV back then we could have stayed at FW REALLY cheap!!"


Anyways, WDW was one of those places that I always wanted to go to , but thought I would never EVER get the chance. Then my dm moved to Fl, and since we were going down to visit my dm we decided to take a quick day trip (which turned out to be 3/4ths of the week! lol) to WDW, and we all have been hooked since!
