Kathy, sorry to hear that Mark is not feeling well...I hope he is feeling better soon and it is not too serious! also, sorry to hear about Markie's car; but, I am happy they found the person responsible!! I hope he is able to find something to get him around and reliable!

Oh! and I really like your plans (although, I don't know if I could be there for THREE days and not go to at least one park  )but I love that ya'll are doing the split trip into three...great way to go!!
:wave2:

Thanks, Connie. We should be talking to insurance company today or tomorrow. A roommate of his has been driving him and will also be driving him to his doctor on Monday (Monday is the day we find out if he will need surgery on his ankle); hubby is anxious to get the MRI done now as the pain is not getting better.

Hey I live on Marco and I go out of my mind with boredom! Why do you think we go to Disney so much? :rotfl:

Yay that is the plan that I like the best! When we do a split say I like to end the stay at a favorite resort so I am not disappointed

Thats great that they found the guy...maybe this will total out the car and Markie can get a new one?

You better email me about Mark on Friday...I know what its like to not get any sleep cuz your man is in pain...but now that mine is not in pain anymore my reason for lack of sleep is his SNORING!

When stuff like this happens you have got to email me! The Disboards doesnt always email me when a link I am subscribed to updates me via email with the new posts!

I promise you will be the first one I EMAIL when we get the results. You do know you can go to your User CP and find all your subscribed threads to see if there are updates? I noticed you hadn't been checking on all your threads lately because you said nothing about my photopass pics on my trip report. ;)

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2Ginny, Lisa, tlrotzoll and StitchandPooh'sMom; sorry I've been on only off and on. Mark (hubby) is in a lot of pain and I've not been sleeping at night because he can't sleep; Markie (son) was home for the weekend with his girlfriend (she drove her car because he has a cast on his driving foot) and while they were hair, someone rearended his car which was parked in front of his house at school...and hit it hard enough that they had to tow it because it was sticking out in the middle of the street; we're waiting for the information from the police now that Mark is back at school to see if they caught the guy, insurance, how bad the car is, etc. If the car is totaled, not sure what we will do or the insurance company. He HAS to have a car and if we have to pay for a new "used" one, there won't be a trip next year.

Right now, the plan is to leave September 17 and stay at the AKL for three nights and NOT go to the parks; then go to Marco Island for five nights and then CSR for five nights and go to the parks.

Kathy, So sorry to read about Mark. It is so hard when your DH is not feeling well and not sleeping. I so know what you mean. I hope he is starting to do better. I assume it is back or neck related?

Wow, that mess about Markie's car. I know you are thankful your son is ok but, it is a hard thing to deal with. Isn't it always 'when it rains, it pours' kinda thing? One more of life getting in the way of living.

I do love your plan. I'm not sure if I could be there 3 days and not at least go to one park. I could do WS at Epcot for a whole day and miss everything else knowing it is there when I came back. I really like the split plan as you know. Prayers are with you on your family semi-crisis.

How the heck did I miss this post? I'm sorry that Mark is not doing well. I sure hope that he's feeling better soon so that the both of you can get some well deserved rest.

I can't believe somebody would rearend his car and then drive off. Wait a minute....yes, I can. People will do anything now-a-days.

Do you think you'll be able to go to Disney for three days and not to go the parks? It's gonna be hard! But, you can always go to Downtown Disney and visit other resorts.

Kathy, I am SO sorry to hear about Mark's pain and your son's car "disaster". I did not have much time to be online lately - SCHOOL - :sad2: and I completely missed your post!
Please keep me/us updated on Mark's condition - he NEEDs to have that checked!
:grouphug: for all of you!!

I just love your vacation plans! Well done girl! Remember that a dream is a wish your heart makes, so follow your heart! :lmao:

Well, we still don't have all the details and don't know if the person who hit Mark's car drove off or not; but we do know that the police know who did it and we are dealing with the paperwork now.

The MRI may now become a catscan. Unfortunately, we can't find any records from when Mark had his heart attack in 2001 and the hospital does not keep records before 2005. We have to submit a request for the records to be sent to us and it takes 2 to 3 business days. We need to know if Mark had a metal or plastic stent inserted when he had the heart attack; if it was metal, he cannot have the MRI without a risk to himself, but he can have the catscan. However, the catscan doesn't cover as much. I just want him to find out what it is and if they can give him medicine, a shot or if he needs surgery. I hate this not knowing and he is absolutely miserable and crabby because he's not sleeping. I'm making him cookies now for his office Halloween party on Friday before he goes for the catscan (unless we get the records real quick--I asked for them to put a rush on it).

I love my vacation plans too. Now, let's hope the car is taken care of and Mark is okay and we can start making the plans.

Did you decide already?? I voted for option #3..love the idea of AKL...then onto to the beach..(and knowing you get to GO back to WDW) while enjoying the beach and waves:)
almost like 3 vacations in one...

My sentiments exactly. :goodvibes

The tentative plan (which is a few posts up) is to go to AKL for three nights and NOT go to the parks; then go to Marco Island for five nights and then CSR for five nights and go to the parks.

Oh no! Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles. Here's a hug:hug:, hoping Mark and your son are both feeling better soon and that whoever hit your son's car gets caught and has good insurance.

I like your plans, but don't know if I could be at AKL for three nights and not go to a park.:rotfl:

Yikes Kathy! I'm hoping that Mark and your son are ok and that everything gets fixed.

I love your plans though-I would totally be up for a trip like that :)

Thanks, gals. Well, Mark's test has been postponed until Wednesday of next week because we can't get his old medical records until Monday and he really needs to know the type of stent they placed in him when he had his heart attack. I think I will be sleeping on the couch or Mark in the spare room for the next couple of days. :headache:

That's terrible that the test didn't show in time... now he has to wait another week!:sad2:

Obviously it is important to know what kind of stent he has.

I'm for sleeping in the guest room. I did that a few nights after Don got hurt. I know our bed is better for him than the guest room bed. I hate that he has to wait. Sure is too bad they can't find something to make him more comfortable while he waits. Sorry for you too. Keep us posted. Wish I had a cookie.

Ginny

I voted for 5 nights AKL (know how much you like CSR, though...) to keep things simple. We were all over the place when looking at our vacation at first, WDW, Vero, WDW... then switched to DCL then dropped second WDW to keep things simple and hopefully more enjoyable!

Good part is that no matter what the final decision is, it will be a great trip!

Kat, just saw about all the troubles with the car accident and the stent! I hope you get the records soon and that you all can get some much needed seep. :grouphug:

I just caught up again! It is such a shame the records were not there in time!
I am keeping my fingers crossed for you, so everything works out a-okay for you and Mark!

Kathy, so sorry for all your troubles - I hope Mark is OK. I always thought that people generally can handle many things; it's the not knowing that's impossible.

Thats great that they found the guy...maybe this will total out the car and Markie can get a new one?

Yes, it is great that they found the guy, but even if the car is totalled, all you'll get is depreciated value, which isn't too much for a 1992 Jeep. I really hope that whatever happens, it won't interfere with your vacation! And thankfully, Markie wasn't in the car when it was hit!

I applaud your decision about your trip; I think you'll have a great time.

CSR is our favorite mod resort...but if you can stay at AKL for the little of a difference i would go for it...we stayed there last Dec and loved it...we go back to AKL (Villas this time) in 42 days:woohoo: and i'm in the process of planning my daughter and husbands birthday in april at AKV

So, when you say no parks you mean no Disney parks, right? You could go to Universal or Sea World just for kicks . . .

So sorry to hear about your son's car. I had the same thing happen to me last year. DD came inside and said Boy mom you parked weird" I went out to look and my car mas moved sideways by 3-4 ft. My car was parked in our driveway between the sidewalk and the road (Ford Focus) DD22's car was in my usual spot. The guy that hit me, well his GF called police to report what happen. A police officer was sent to his house and they found him in a coma (he was a diabetic and drank too much the night he hit my car) when he hit my car he went up on my neighbor's grass to hit my car, you could see the tire marks in the grass. I called the police officer that was making the report to find out to see how the report was coming along and what was going on with the guy that hit me. He said that he was still in a coma and not expected to live. He asked if I wanted the report to state that the guy in the coma was the one to do it or just leave it as a hit and run (mind you they only had the GF's word that he did it) I felt for his family and said to just leave it as a hit and run since my deductable was only $250. I said nothing against the driver but at least if my car had to be in an accident I thank God that myself or my family were not in the car when it happened. I'm sure you feel the same way about Markie's car.

BTW I voted for 3 days at AKL, then Marco and then back to CSR. After reading your last trip report I really want to stay at CSR. I am waiting for DBF to get the time off so that we can go by ourselves. What about booking a standard at AKL? They don't have many standard rooms and most people that book them get upgraded to pool view or Savannah view (according to threads I've read on DIS, I booked this way and was upgraded in my opinion to the best room in the house. When you walked out of our room you turned left walked 10 ft turned left again, walked 30 ft and there were the doors that lead to the pool, Mara's and the arcade (DD16 was 13 then and that was all she cared about) worse come to worse you ask to be upgraded at checkin and pay the difference for the Savannah if they don't offer the upgrade for free. Just a thought.
