Hi, Kathy,

Just found your poll! I voted for 3 AKL,Marco, then 3 CSR. I think you & Mark would really enjoy it this way, but still get to stay at your beloved CSR. :thumbsup2

When we stayed at AKL Sav view for 3 ngts, it was so relaxing it felt longer. Also, it is a nice way to try a new resort, but just in case it's not your cup of tea, will not be stuck there for 5 ngts - if you find you love, then there's always next trip. ::yes::

Whichever you decide, it will be fabulous!! Happy planning! :goodvibes

I'll respond to everyone who posted about the "proposed" trip options later. Just an update on the two Marks in my life: Husband's MRI postponed until next Wednesday; Markie's car is still at the pound (and being charged daily for it). The kid who hit him has no valid license, no insurance and he ditched his car when he hit Mark. They found the car and it is registered to his mother and my DH and the insurance company are trying to locate her. In the meantime, we are trying to see if we can get him a rental car (which I will insist that the mother pay for) so that he can get to classes, practice and his observation at the elementary school which is part of his major); if we can't get him one (because of his only being 21), we will be driving out to Dubuque on Sunday to give him my car until his is fixed or whatever happens with the insurance. Not having a good day as you can see. :headache:

Kathy, this is unbelievable! How awful - I am so sorry you all are dealing with so much right now. Tomorrow is Wed so please keep us updated after Mark's MRI, when possible.

Sending you guys big ((hugs))). :grouphug:

Hey Kathy,

Just wanted to check in and see how everybody was doing. I hope that things are getting better. You're all still in my prayers.

Just checking on you Kathy. Thinking of you and the men in your life. I hope Mark doesn't have to wait days to find something out on his MRI.

Ginny

Hi, everyone. We are stopping at the hospital tonight to pick up his medical records to determine the type of stent. Hopeful, it is plastic so Mark can get MRI done tomorrow -- he's not sleeping well at all (which means I'm not); Markie has a rental car (courtesey of the kids' mother's insurance that hit him); however, we fear the car is going to be declared totaled the way it is looking which means we are going to have to give him my car. And now my best male friend's mother is very ill...in ICU...and he is at her bedside and I'm very worried about him (after going through this with my dad last year, I know what he is going through and I know nothing I can say will help...plus he keeps a lot to himself).

Kathy, I CANNOT believe that the other driver who hit your son's car has no licence and that his mother did not contact you or him yet!!! This is SO unbelieveable!
I just hope and pray that this will end for you soon and that your son gets a decent car soon! Things are SO different in the US - so it always amazes me to read things like this.

As for Mark, the husband, I will think of him tomorrow OFTEN and pray that all goes well!
Please keep us posted on the outcome of his MRI!

And here is a big  for you to get through all this! I'll keep you all in my prayers!

Extra prayers to your friend and his mother. That is so hard as you know first hand.

I know about the car situation and having to give yours up for Markie. Will keep hoping and praying it all works out for you.

I voted for 5 nights AKL (know how much you like CSR, though...) to keep things simple. We were all over the place when looking at our vacation at first, WDW, Vero, WDW... then switched to DCL then dropped second WDW to keep things simple and hopefully more enjoyable!

Good part is that no matter what the final decision is, it will be a great trip!

Kat, just saw about all the troubles with the car accident and the stent! I hope you get the records soon and that you all can get some much needed seep. :grouphug:

Thanks for your vote. And thanks for the good wishes.

Kathy, so sorry for all your troubles - I hope Mark is OK. I always thought that people generally can handle many things; it's the not knowing that's impossible.

Yes, it is great that they found the guy, but even if the car is totalled, all you'll get is depreciated value, which isn't too much for a 1992 Jeep. I really hope that whatever happens, it won't interfere with your vacation! And thankfully, Markie wasn't in the car when it was hit!

I applaud your decision about your trip; I think you'll have a great time.

Thanks. I'm really afraid the decision is going to be that the car is totaled and we will be taking Markie my car.

CSR is our favorite mod resort...but if you can stay at AKL for the little of a difference i would go for it...we stayed there last Dec and loved it...we go back to AKL (Villas this time) in 42 days:woohoo: and i'm in the process of planning my daughter and husbands birthday in april at AKV

Sounds great....have a wonderful time.

So, when you say no parks you mean no Disney parks, right? You could go to Universal or Sea World just for kicks . . .

I meant no Disney parks. :rotfl2: Actually, we've not been to Sea World in about 15 years and we've talked about going to see all the new stuff. Universal doesn't do that much for us; I don't do "major" roller coasters, so we'd do the old side and we've done it enough times.

:scared1: :scared1: WHAT?????? :scared1: :scared1:

LOL (just kiddin!)

And WHO IS THE ONE STAYING OFF PROPERTY? :rotfl2:

So sorry to hear about your son's car. I had the same thing happen to me last year. DD came inside and said Boy mom you parked weird" I went out to look and my car mas moved sideways by 3-4 ft. My car was parked in our driveway between the sidewalk and the road (Ford Focus) DD22's car was in my usual spot. The guy that hit me, well his GF called police to report what happen. A police officer was sent to his house and they found him in a coma (he was a diabetic and drank too much the night he hit my car) when he hit my car he went up on my neighbor's grass to hit my car, you could see the tire marks in the grass. I called the police officer that was making the report to find out to see how the report was coming along and what was going on with the guy that hit me. He said that he was still in a coma and not expected to live. He asked if I wanted the report to state that the guy in the coma was the one to do it or just leave it as a hit and run (mind you they only had the GF's word that he did it) I felt for his family and said to just leave it as a hit and run since my deductable was only $250. I said nothing against the driver but at least if my car had to be in an accident I thank God that myself or my family were not in the car when it happened. I'm sure you feel the same way about Markie's car.

What a nice gesture by you. And, yes, thankfully no one was in the car...that is the best news about the whole situation.

Turns out the other kid did have a license and his mother had insurance. Her insurance is paying for the rental car that Markie is currently driving.

We got the medical records today but it doesn't say if the stent is metal or plastic. Mark is calling the MRI place in the morning and hopefully they'll know. He's got to go tomorrow and get some answers. :headache:

Thanks, Ginny. I hope you are feeling better too.

I am now voting for.....

* good news on the vehicle front

* good news on the health front

*good nights sleep for you and yours;)

Oh Kathy, I am just getting caught up (I was in Disneyland all last week) and I am so sorry Mark is going through this and about Markie's car. When it rains it pours!

So today is the day for Mark's MRI, I am saying a prayer for you guys and hoping he gets some concrete answers and relief. Saying a prayer for Frank and his mom too.

Hang in there friend.

And for what its worth, I think a few days at AKL with no parks, followed by Marco then five days at CSR is about as perfect a vacation as can be had! Maria and I did Sea World in June and loved it. That might be a nice non Disney day for you guys. The lunch with Shamu thing was really nice and a nice treat.

Keep us posted.:grouphug:

Sorry to hear about all your trials and tribulations these past few weeks. Here's hoping that everything turns out well for all that's going on in your life right now. I've got all my fingers and toes crossed that everything works out for you. I'll send some pixie dust your way, and hope that you have a better day!:tink::tink::tink::grouphug::grouphug:

Thanks to all of you for your warm wishes for my two Marks! No new news on the car situation...the adjustor still has not looked at it.

Mark (DH) has a protruding disc. He is going to see a specialist tomorrow to see if they think that medication, therapy and exercise will help the situation and how long they should try that route and then if not whether or not he will need surgery.

Glad to hear you have a DX,hope the therapy and meds will help...my couisn just had surgery she had relief almost immediatley...

I know you feel good to have a diagnosis. It is good he gets into the specialist quickly. Keep us posted.

Prayers continue.

Ginny

I'm glad that there is a diagnosis. Hopefully he can get it resolved without having surgery. Maybe now he can get on the road to recovery. :goodvibes
