Okay So I had to jump in with "our Song." Our wedding was 5 years ago. Traditional Church of Christ Wedding, no dancing so the music during the ceremony was a big deal to both of us. Months ahead of time we picked out sheet music, way too much, but we had lots of favorites( "I cross my heart", "When you say nothing at all", etc...)
Fast forward to the wedding day, my old boyfriend was the pianist and decided to bring along a buddy to play guitar, we thought great, this will be really nice. Well for whatever reason they seemed to play the same songs over and over and occasionally throw in something we requested. I honestly think they didn't learn the pieces far enough in advance so they resorted to playing what they knew. I was to walk in to Canon in D, well the Bridal March started and I just went on down the aisle(honestly I didn't even notice it was wrong, hubby did). We had really wanted to pick a good song for our recessional(hubby wanted The Greatest American Hero Theme Song, You know, "Believe it or not I'm walking on air, never thought it would feel so good") We finally decided on the Turtles "Happy Together" We purchased the Greatest Hits CD and apparently the AV guy didn't get the message as to which song was to be played. So guess what comes blasting out of the speakers towards our 500 guests? "It Ain't Me Babe" It goes a little something like,"It ain't me babe, I'm not the one that you want" It was a mess! But a funny one. It was amazing how many people actually thought we picked that song to be funny. Eventually "Happy Together" did get played when our grandparents exited so all was not lost. If you add that to my wedding dress catching on fire while leaving for the honeymoon, to WDW I might add, It was a pretty eventful day!
To clarify my dress story, we decided to have sparklers instead of birdseed, rice, balloons,etc...when we were ready to leave since it was dark. We thought it would make for great pictures. The sparks caught my dress in several places and left holes. I actually had a woman practically jump in the car with us to pat down my dress to make sure I wouldn't burst into flames!
