What was your first concert...and your most recent?

First: STYX and the Paradise Theatre Tour (approx 1980) I was a Freshman in High School.

Last: John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band
Bjorn Again the ABBA Experience.

My first was when I was about 13 and I think it was BTO or Foghat can't remember which one I saw first and it was at Scope arena in Norfolk Va.
The last one was about 6 yrs ago Stones in Tulsa.

On second thought my last concert was a battle of the bands and my stepson's band was performing. He's not famous yet.

First concert was the Captain and Tenille at the Garden State Arts Center in NJ. It was sometime in the 70's, I was really young.

Last concert was Tim Mcgraw in the Summer of '04 at the Wachovia Arena in PA, it was a really great show. The Warren brothers and Big & Rich opened for him.

I loooooove concerts. My one guilty pleasure. They are so expensive!

Ahhh...the benefits of being a music journalist--free concert tickets, free CD's. :thumbsup2

First concert: I was 10 and went to Elton John at Madison Square Garden.
Last concert: I was with my 10yo son and went to a Fall Out Boy concert in Bridgeport, CT.

My first concert was Ray Davies and the Kinks when I was in high school (L-O-L-A, Lola).

I can't remember the most recent (raising two kids alone cuts back on the opportunities to go to a concert), but was probably Pink Floyd or Carlos Santana.

In 1973 I was in college in Richmond, VA and went to a FREE concert by a young performer who was on the verge of releasing his first album and wanted a test audience away from his regular stomping grounds. The album came out a couple of months after the show. It was called "Greetings From Asbury Park". Has anyone else here ever seen Springsteen for FREE?

I also went to a show in DC in the early 70's. The headline act was the Doobie Brothers. Their opening act was Billy Joel, who was a complete unknown to the DC audience, but after that concert I went out and hunted down a copy of "Piano Man" which had just been released.

My frist concert was Richard Marx

My last was in February Great Big Sea.
Seeing them again at Bumbershoot in September :) Cant wait~!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

My first concert was the Osmonds, wayyyyy back in the early '70s. I was 11 or 12 at the time. My mom refused to let me and my friend go alone, so she went with us. :p

The last concert was Three Dog Night at Epcot in 2004. Well, unless you count handbell concerts... I saw the Raleigh Ringers last fall. It was a great show!

I was drug to NKOTB concert when I was a kid. Hated it. My first real concert (the other one wasn't paid admission, just played at the fair in an open ampetheater) that I went to was Genesis. I loved that one!

The last concert I went to was Third Day (hi Kimmie)!

Next up is Bo Bice... I think he would sound awesome with Third Day too :p

1st Concert - Poison and Skid Row (I think it was Skid Row) in 8th grade

Last Concert - Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, about a month ago

Next Concert - Summerfest in Milwaukee, lots & lots of bands

Memorable Concert - I'm staying at this hotel and I hear a rumor that there are some real bigshots staying in the hotel that night. It turns out an NBA team was staying there. Later on I'm wandering around the hotel and in one of the bars I hear all this singing and laughing. I walk in and there is Barry Mannilow playing the piano and singing, and people are singing along. Barry Mannilow is also staying in the same hotel! I'm not a huge fan, but I stayed and had a few drinks, and sang. It was a blast.

Hmmm...I never paid specifically to see Springsteen, but I have seen him. At a 1987 U2 concert at JFK Stadium in Philly, Little Stephen was the opening act. While U2 was playing, Bono asked if anyone wanted to play his guitar, of course everyone went nuts, then he asked if Bruce Springsteen wanted to play his guitar. The Boss came out and the place went even more nuts.

As OP am I allowed to go OT like that?

First concert -- THE BEATLES :cool1: - 1964 - I was 13.

Last concert -- James Taylor - Summer 2005

ME! It was in the mid-80's sometime. A friend of mine new a roadie. He gave us tickets and backstage passes. We didn't meet Springsteen before the show or anything, but the tickets for the concert were great and we had a blast! The roadie told us the name that Springsteen used when he stayed at the hotels during that particular road trip. Well, my friend and I couldn't NOT try to talk to him so we called his hotel really late that night...and guess who we talked to?? Yep, the Boss himself. I bet if I thought really hard I could remember that alias name.

Ahhh, the good ole days! ;)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that thinks that!!! :p Someone needs to introduce them, they'd be so excellent together!

My first concert I remember was Elton John in 2000. Most recent- probably Keith Urban over the winter. But I'm going a week from tonight to see Tim McGraw & Faith Hill :bounce:
I've been to a lot of concerts though:
Brooks and Dunn-- at least 6x..........Rascal Flatts-- 3x
Reba McEntire-- 1x........................Martina McBride-- 3x
Lori Morgan-- 1x ...........................Kenny Chesney-- 2x
Keith Urban-- 3 or 4x......................Phil Vasser-- 3x
Tim McGraw-- 2x...........................Montgomery Gentry-- 1x
Brad Paisley-- 3x...........................JoDee Messina-- 1x
Alan Jackson-- 1x..........................Dixie Chicks-- 1x
Blake Shelton-- 1x
and then I've also seen Three Dog Night 1x, Frankie Vallie 1x, NSYNC 3x, Britney Spears 1x, Backstreet Boys 1x, 98 Degrees 1x, O-Town 1x, Avril Lavigne 1x and that's all I can remember. I'm lucky my parents love going to concerts! :rockband: :music:

New Kids in the summer of 1989- the first of 15 (!) concerts I'd gone to of theirs

My last one was Bruce Springsteen at Giants Stadium summer 2004. I'll be seeing Bon Jovi at Giants Stadium next week.

Favorite concerts- Harry Connick, Jr at the Paramount, Duran Duran at the Garden State Arts Center ( I think it is the PNC Bank something now), Smashing Pumpkins at some stadium in MD and Hootie and the Blowfish in MD.
I also got to see Keanu Reeves' band play in DC and meet him after. I don't think anyone was there for the music! :p

:rockband:

In the mid-70's (don't laugh...either Barry Manilow or Neil Diamond w/gang from work).

Most recent was the Stones!

Ummm....yeah. That is a good story! I forgot I saw U2 at Giants Stadium- we had such bad seats though that I can't consider it a favorite.

Yup, it's now PNC Arts Center. It's our favorite place to go for concerts. We always hold out for tickets and end up sitting no further back than 200 section. That's where I've seen the majority of my concerts.
