What was your favorite board game growing up??

"Sorry" - because that was the only game any of my friends had. My family didn't have a board game. I don't even remember what the object of the game was or what there was to be "sorry" about. I just remember the name.

One of my friends knew a family that had a Monopoly game and we got to watch them play it once.

The Game of Life! The original one. I heard they changed it.

I also loved Clue.

Disney Trivial Pursuit was always a blast to play too. (my whole family played from the kid's cards, because the adult cards were too hard! lol)

My sister, my brother and I used to play board games constantly. We had a HUGE collection of them. :goodvibes

Green Ghost was my favorite. We'd play it in the basement with all the lights off! I also liked Clue and Life. Monopoly was never my favorite because my brother would be out for blood. Other brother and I would get back at him by selling each other properties for $5.00 only!

Life

Mall Madness was the best! We also loved Dance Party and Dream Date. And I don't know if these count, b/c they had videos, but they also had boards: Atmosfear and Wayne's World. They were so much fun. We would set the mood for Atmosfear by turning off the lights and lighting candles! We also had Monopoly marathons that would last days!

Me and my sister owned almost every board game ever created! We had an entire walk-in closet, with shelves from floor to ceiling around 3 sides of the closet, filled with games! Unfortunately, we moved when we were 13 & 14, and every game but Monopoly was destroyed in a huge flood one month later. Monopoly only got save b/c we were playing the day before, and it was on the second level of the house.

Life.............I had to get those kids! I got so angry if I got through a game without my backseats full of pink and blue pegs!

What do you mean "growing up"? I still play board games! :teeth: Me & my fiance play Uno, Sorry, Po-kee-no, Monopoly, etc. Plus on my Amazon wish list I have the Disney version of Sorry, & the orginal versions of Trouble & Life. :goodvibes

Candyland, Monopoly, The Farming Game

The best thing when playing Monopoly with my Dad and brother was seeing who could cheat the best without getting caught!

Probably no one else has ever heard of The Farming Game (it was invented by a farmer in WA, near where we lived), but we had it growing up and after we'd grown up and out of the house, Stepmom tossed it in the garbage -- my brother was bummed because he used to beat the pants off everyone else by farming cherries which was lucrative but very risky. (I preferred wheat farming, which wasn't as lucrative, but more stable.) A couple years after Stepmom threw it out, I was walking through a mall in CA of all places and spotted one of those game stores. Since Christmas was coming up soon, I walked in and asked the clerk, "Do you have The Farming Game?" He looked at me rather quizzically and said, "I'd never heard of it until today when we just got three of it in." I bought one for my brother. Later, wished I bought one for Dad and one for me. :)

DH and I like to play Sequence.

DS3.5 likes to play Candyland.

I may have two that no one else has ever heard of!
Uncle Wiggly and High Gear!

I also loved Clue, Trouble, and Parcheesi.

I loved Mall Madness! It is funny looking back because I love to shop now...and I was SO good at that game.

I've always enjoyed Life, Monopoly,Yahtzee, Uno and Chinese checkers.

When I was a pre-teen, I loved the game Bargain Hunter. It had credit cards and a credit card machine (you know like the old ones that used carbon copy paper!)

It is funny that this question came up because tonight I was actually looking for a game I had in the early 80's that was a goofy hospital game but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called!

Payday
Parcheesi
Yahtzee
Connect Four
Uno
Aggravation
Trouble
Battleship

I love games. I also liked the games you played individually like Perfection (though those things popping up in my face scared me  ) and Numbers Up.
