What TV Programmes From The UK Do You Like?

Currently:
Doctor Who (also watched back in the 80's)
Robin Hood*

In the past:
Whose Line is it Anyway (UK version)
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Red Dwarf (sometimes)
The Young Ones

*I like the new one that just started on BBC America and I loved the old series from the 80's with Jason Connery (Sean Connery's son) as Robin.

The only ones I have ever watched are Monty Python's Flying Circus and another show I used to LOVE in college. I think it was called The Young Ones. I thought it was hilarious at the time. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yep! I used to love watching them on MTV. Vivian and Rick were my faves.

Btw, here's are two interesting tid bits of info. The actor who played Vivian is married to the main actress who played on Ab Fab (sorry, don't remember her name. DH watched Ab Fab, I didn't). Also, the actors who played Neil and Rick, have provided character voices on Sponge Bob.

Monty Python (of course)
The Young Ones (we still make references to that show around here in daily life)
What Not to Wear
Whose Line is it Anyway?
Ab Fab

And, of course, Father Ted, for the complete ridiculousness factor. :happytv:

Well it's not on anymore but I LOVE Blackadder. That's one of my all time favorite shows. I also love Absolutely Fabulous and Monty Python.

I forgot about both Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Bret that a PP mentioned as well as Black Adder!

I didn't watch Black Adder that much, but my favorite episode has to be the Dictionary.

Adder: "What do you have for C?"
Assistant (can't remember his name): "A big blue wobly thing with fish in it." :rotfl2:

Oh man, how could I forget BlackAdder and the original Who's Line - awesome shows!!!
Also, isn't the cartoon Danger Mouse from overthere?

I loved watching Danger Mouse! I got a kick out of Penfold (I loved the way he waddled)!

Back in the dark ages of cable, Nickelodeon and A&E shared a channel. Nick would start at 7 am and end at 8 pm. A&E would be on from 8 pm until 7 am. Couldn't stand it! DM and Bannana Man were the last shows on Nickelodeon at night. Once it was over, it was abrubtly cut (literally) to go to A&E! Boy am I glad they now have their own channels! I missed a lot of shows on A&E that were on during the day that I had wanted to tape (was in middle school back then) and couldn't b/c we didn't have it until 8 pm.

I looooooooovvvvvvvvve Absolutely Fabulous!!! There is nothing funnier.

Ooops!!! Forgot about Benny Hill!

Adrian Edmunson married to Jennifer Saunders.

Also Dawn French (The Vicar of Dibley) is married to Lenny Henry (Chef)

Yep, we go for just about all Brit TV.
Some of our faves:

BBC America News--I am still ranting over the loss of CBC--American news just doesn't feature or delve into world news, CNN has really gone downhill since Ted Turner sold it~
BLACKADDER!
Monty Python
Ab Fab!
House Doctor--where did she go? superior to what we do here
Are you Being Served?
Keeping Up Appearances--my fav, not DH's
All the mystery series here I want to add all the Miss Marples :thumbsup2
all the history--I, Claudius was terrific
ancient days: Upstairs, Downstairs; All Creatures Great & Small; Rumpole of the Bailey (huge fav here), Doctor in the House; To the Manor Born
She Devil--the movie, while it is passable for itself, cannot begin to come up t the series! Wow! excellent series!

Good Neighbors (I think that was the name of it anyway - had Felicity Kendal in it)
Solo (Another one with Felicity Kendal)

I would really like to see one that I haven't seen in about 25 - 30 years called the Fainthearted Feminist - had one of the Redgrave sisters in it.

I really liked the one about the cop that was sent back in time - dang it, i can't remember the name - the people in the past who knew about it thought he was mental - but he even saw himself as a child sometimes - and found his mom. Big Bowie fan here so I loved that they used his music for the theme.

I am sure there are more that I just can't think of right now. Some of the MOnday night mysteries and crime shows but I can't remember their names.
