What to Wear at Parks

I've been going back & forth about what to wear at the parks, especially IOA, because you have the potential of getting drenched. I REALLY REALLY didn't want to bring an extra set of clothes. And bring a poncho? What's the point? I mean, that's why we want to ride the water rides, to get wet!

Anyway (and I swear I don't work for Land's End, or own any stock) I found these wonderful shorts in the Lands End catalog. I just got them yesterday, and they are GREAT! They are cargo water-shorts, made of some type of thin material that is suppose to dry super quick.

I just thought I would share this, in case anyone else is debating what to wear too. I figured I'd wear the water shorts and maybe a tankini tank top. Now I don't have to worry about getting wet and changing clothes!

Hope this helps someone!

I always wear my swim shorts as u cannot tell diff from norm shorts and they dry out pretty quickly takes a bit longer for my money if I forget to cover it:tongue:

That's great! Unfortunately, there isn't much available for women. I planned the same as you for my sons tho, bought about 3 pairs of swim trunks a piece at walmart w/tank tops...they just look like "cool shorts"

Thats the prob with women they always need a new outfit

I bought some great swim shorts at the Pointe shopping on IDrive with matching bikini top or matching ****tube and I wore a sleeveless t-shirt over the top. As I probably won't be staying on-site this time, will probably take a change so I can have a lunch somewhere nice like Tchoup chop, then change back again afterwards. I tend to have more of a problem with shoes! Shoes for all that walking, shoes for evening, shoes for general, shoes for by the pool!!! :teeth: Then there's bags....bag for the park, bag for the evening, bag for general, bag for by the pool!!! :teeth: and don't mention the toiletry bag....do you know my case is half full with all that before I even begin with clothes!!!...and jackets!!! :D

***hey...I've been censored!*** Over here we call it a b o o b tube....girls you know what I mean the bikini top that covers your midriff too and is really short , comes just above the belly button!***

My family and I always wear nylon shorts that dry quickly. DH and DS often wear swim trunks when we know we will be riding water rides. I bought those same shorts from Land's End last year. They do dry out quickly and they are comfy too. As for shoes, I always wear Birkenstocks...ahhh my feet love them. Yes, I have to sit on them on the Hulk and Dueling Dragons. Otherwise they would be in the net or on the ground somewhere.

LOL, Steph........... yeah, you see some things that shouldn't been seen outside of a locked bedroom!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to add that I got some Liz Claiborne shorts, they are "micro-fiber" golf shorts.......... those babies will go with me every trip from now on!!! They are so comfy, and stay cool, but they dry really fast, like the boys swimtrunks....... fast, fast, fast!!!

As for shoes, SANDALS!!!

I wear clothes made out of the new high tech material that wicks moisture away from your body and dries quickly. Often, the clothing is marketed as exercise or bike gear from places like REI.

The worst fabric to wear is cotton, since it takes so long to dry.

When I wear these Coolmax, nylon or high tech polyester shirts and pants, a quick trip on a roller coaster after a water ride will blow me completely dry.

:hyper: I never thought of the Hulk & Dueling Dragons as a blow dryer! Bet that would work when the weathers hot! :teeth:

I'm amazed no women slated me for the new outfit comment wow must be a first:tongue:

Unfortunately Highlander, I know my own weakness....I'm a self-professed Clothes Horse!!

What are the name of the shorts for women at Lands End???

I HATE to be wet. That is why I avoid all wet rides. But I was figuring this may be hard to do at Universal. I even bought sandals (which I never usually wear. I also don't like to go barefoot or even close to it.) Anyway, I ordered the kids action sandals from Lands End for me and my kids (I can wear the kids size 4). These are soft and supposed to be good for wet conditions too. AT least I won't have to worry about wet socks!!

Now I just have to worry about top and shorts.

You can find them on the Lands End website w/ the ladies shorts. They are relatively new and actually called Cargo Water Shorts.

P.S. They also have them for men!

Can you give me the link to the land's end website? Also is there a land's end store to shop at in Orlando?

Hi Selina! I LOVE Lands' End clothing! (Just about everything I own comes from them LOL!) Their website is landsend.com. Sears (department store) usually carries some of the more popular lines of Lands' End clothing now. I'm assuming that there is a Sears store at the new Millenium Mall in Orlando. The mall is not too far from Universal property. If you have a car, that would be a nice outing some evening (there's also a Cheesecake Factory at that mall!!!)

Hi threeboysmom! Thanks so much...had a look at the website and I see what you mean....perfect "Universal" clothing!! The owners must be fans too! It's funny - there are only two places in the U.K. that stock land's end clothing and one just happens to be In Maidenhead, about 8 miles away from where I live.!! I'm going there on Saturday too!!:D

I was checking out my new water cargo shorts last night to see what all will fit in the pockets. I put my digital camera in a ziplock bag (for water rides), and slipped it in one of the velcroed pockets on the leg and it fit! Now I won't have to carry around a fanny pack either :Pinkbounc
