I'm choosing to say nothing about the name and just provide all the appropriate noises about how beautiful the baby is. . .she really is a cutie! I still can't believe my friend decided to name her "Tallulah James".
First - I kind of like the name Not too out there anymore (look around - it is up and coming). Second - the name will come to fit the baby. It's no one's place to say a thing, so I think it is best to just go on about beautiful she is!!
Ok... the Tallulah I can handle, but James as a middle name is just weird. I know people who have given their kids their maiden name as a middle name, which is fine, but that just sounds too masculine for my taste.
People have different tastes and visions...I think it's a fine name.
As for 'James'...I understand the father's first name is James but it may also be the maiden name of a grandmother or something like that. Not an uncommon practice in some parts.
I think it's a fine name. I don't care what my friends name their kids. I got to name my own kids - I don't need to have input into anyone else's child's name. BTW, my middle name is "Jaime" (pronounced "Jame"), and I've always loved it.
P.S. I think John Travolta's daughter's name is Ella Blue.
If the parents ask what I think about a name before the baby is born, I'll give my opinion. But I would never say something negative after the baby has already been born and named. If I didn't like it I'd just try to make neutral comments that sound positive. Kind of like when someone gets a bad haircut .
