Ok, I realize it will be hotter than when we have been to WDW in the past (Feb, Mar, Oct), so I actually broke down and bought some shorts :earseek: . I have never worn shorts to WDW, very rarely wear them at home...but I don't want to melt in my denim capris. I found a few cute juniors disney separates at Walmart. Problem is I normally wear size 12-14 (mostly 14), and I don't want to look ridiculous in these tight fitting little clothes, but they are so comfy and cute. I am *only* 35, so can I still wear this stuff? BTW, one pr of Tigger short says"Trouble" across the butt, and the Grumpy shorts have a baseball team type #. Also bought some lite spandex-y (not shiny) knee length shorts to wear with my Disney T's. I have a few DS.com sundresses as well, although these are pretty long. I have a few Terricloth shirt/capri outfits from DS.com last year, but I'm not sure how this material breathes in the heat. I'm trying to pack "lite" clothes to be able to fit more in the luggage and not go over the weight limit. Any thoughts?

The way I look at things is that if they make it in my size then it's alright to wear!!! I think the terry cloth sets maybe a little warm for Sept. it is usually still pretty hot and humid here. Maybe a cotton sundress, I like them since they are cool. As far as overpacking........don't...... just plan on doing a load of laundry at the resort, heck it only takes an hour and it beats toting that overweight suitcase around the airport! Not only that but with it still being so warm you may change clothes several times in a day. The capris maybe alright for the evenings. You and I wear about the same size and I wear shorts all the time.
Sent you a pm with some info

Wear what makes you comfortable and happy, that's what I do and I'm way past a 14. (In fact the average American woman is a size 14, so you're right in there in the pack.)

My outlook is very simple, as long as I'm neat and clean and not violating any indecency laws, it's my business what I choose to wear. I'm not here to decorate anyone's life.

However, I will not wear a bikini... Hee!

I'm not here to decorate anyone's life.

I will now be quoting you FOREVER!!!! That's the best line I've ever heard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!::yes::

WEll said, I am way past a size 14..kinda pooh sized, I wear shorts to WDW and out in public (nothing form fitting or tight) as they are comfortable..if you do not like how I look, do not look, I am not hurting anyone, just a larger size woman in shorts is all...:sunny:

I think you will be fine with what you've chosen. We went last Sept and I wore mostly shorts and sundresses when we went to dinner and such. I think some capris would be fine if they are a light cotton or linen. Wear what you are comfortable in. When it's 90 degrees you really won't care what someone else thinks.
BTW.. I would pack a couple of rain ponchos too. Last sept...we had a few rain showere here and there.
We'll be there this sept. too......maybe we'll see you.

We have been many times in Sept and I always wear pants down on plane, and then have never taken them out again when at WDW. I've even taken a pair of shorts in my carry on and changed in airport washroom while waiting for luggage - way too hot for me to be in pants. I wear bike pant shorts and long T shirts or shorts and tank tops every day. I sometimes take a summer dress down for evenings, but since I don't want to pack a lot of different shoes, I usually stick with shorts and a nice top for dinners. Wear what is comfortable - you'll see just about everything going! Enjoy! Jo

What everyone else said!

Also, do be sure you have raingear and shoes that can get wet. Sept. is hurricane season, and though direct hits on Central Fla. are exceptionally rare, backwash rainfall is not.

Also, you didn't say what part of September you will be there. The middle part of the month often coincides with lovebug season part 2. If so, minimize the amount of white, yellow, and pale blue you plan to wear; they are attracted to those colours. They don't bite or sting, and can't hurt you in any way, but they are a bit of a nuisance.

Hello,
We were there last sept 2003, and it was hot...16-23rd to be exact. 90 degrees and above hot. We brought shorts and t-shirts/collared shirts and it worked out fine. I brought some skirts for the evening and sundresses for my dd. You'll have a blast....light crowds during that time.

We are arriving 9/10. It will be our first time in Sept- the past few trips were Oct, and Feb and March before that. So, we do not know what to expect. I am ashamed to say I have no lime green Mickey anything, so I may try to make it a point to tie some ribbon or string on DD's stroller to represent... At this point, with all the craziness over the AP rates, I'm afraid to attract DIS attention to myself- the CMs may through rotten fruit at us! Just kidding (although I probably will be blacklisted off their postcard mailing list). We are DH, DD11, DD2, and me, staying at AS Mo. I will be the one carrying a DS.com cooler every day. See you there!
To everyone else-thanks so much for the wonderful advice! I was considering carrying a shorts outfit for each person in my carryon to change into-DH thinks thats going over the top. So, I will carry an extra outfit for everyone but him.
One more question- coming from NY, will I need to wear more than a tshirt to the airport going to and from FL? Don't recall how cool it is at 6:30 in the AM in Sept....

Don't know how cool it is in NY at 630am in Sept. But do know that I absolutely freeze on the airplanes! I tell people that when hot flashes do arrive I will probably be comfortable since I am cold all the time!:p

Its not cool at all, at any time of the day, at least to me. Anything over 80 degrees is too hot and that's what its like in September but I also go at this time. What you have mentioned sounds fine except the terry cloth outfits unless you want to wear one to the waterpark on your way back to the resort in the bus but to walk around I think that would be too hot. Light breathable clothes are what you are looking for. I am also "Pooh-sized" and I wear shorts all the time (the ones to my knees but still shorts) and long T-shirts or tank tops. Believe me in that heat you couldn't care less what others are thinking! My most valued advice is MISTER FANS! Whether you buy at home at Walmart for under $6 or at $15 in the parks, they are SOOOO worth it. Also keep handy a washcloth, we take them and put ice into them to wipe our faces and neck and it does help a lot. Have a great time!
:teeth:

We'll be arriving on the 11th! I've made several Sept. trips, and I always run out of dry socks! It will rain and your feet will get wet, even with ponchos. So I will be packing double the socks I need. They never seem to dry quickly in the resort room, unless you lay the on the a/c. Then you have the aroma all through the room! :earseek:
