What to get a 3y/o boy..

I am going to a b-day party for my cousins little boy. He is 3 and I have no idea what to buy him. Please help me out with what to buy. Thanks

Does he like Thomas the Train? My DS is 2.5 and really getting into the trains and the tracks.

I saw a Curious George Leap Frog reading kit at BJ's for $39.99 recently. It's for ages 2-6 or something similar and I think my DS would love it.

BIG TRUCKS ... The had some super large fire trucks and stuff at BJ's that my DS would LOVE.

Books, my DS loves books, especially about his favorite characters which are Curious George, Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo.

Anything to be like Daddy at this point ... The little Black and Decker tool kits, a kitchen set. DS loves to help me clean and I saw this cute janitoral cart at BJ's that had a toy mop set and stuff in it. DS would love that too.

Planes ... Trucks ... Cars. He LOVES his collections of Cars from the movie Cars. We bring it to bed with him and bring it down every AM.

He is really starting to like crafts but someone has to have the time to sit down and do them with him. He loves making little pumpkins and ghosts to hang on the trees in the yard.

It's been a while since DS was 3 but I'll give it a shot.

Mega Blocks or Duplo. Or Lego for his age group.

Things that he can use to play act - they have sets like firefighters with the helmet etc, knights with little swords and shields etc. They don't cost all that much and you can get a few of them.

Age appropriate toy cars or trains. Not too small.

Books - just go to the bookstore and ask them for recommendations. Try some that he can interact with like Animalia by Graeme Base.

A new sled if you live where you can do that.

Puzzles or board games - again age appropriate.

Dump truck or any kind of cool truck. Seems guys er., boys can't ever have enough of them.

Melissa & Doug make a lot of great wooden toys for preschoolers. Besides the blocks and puzzles, they have a really nice mailbox set, build it yourself trains with wooden tools, etc., and the toys are very durable.

Maybe you could ask your cousin what he likes? It's their boy after all.
