I have been going to Disneyland and Disneyworld since I was 12 and have never stayed a Disney Resort. This year I have decided that we would be staying onsite. We will be staying at the Polynesian and I was wondering will they be mailing our tickets and DDP info to us or do we pick those up when we get there? I was also wondering on the Deluxe DDP can a Table Service meal be used as a Quick Serve meal? Any help with this would be great. Thanks, Crystal

You have made some great decisions!!! You should have been given a confirmation number to use to check in. When you check in, your tickets will be on your room key. You can also add a credit card (debit if you like) so that you can do charges to your room. If you choose this option, you would be able to use your room key for charges and the resort would charge it to your card in lump sums ($1500 at a time, I think, if you use that much). That is convenient!! Also, your dining credits will be on your room keys.

Do you have your ADRs? If not, be sure to make them as soon as you can. You can get lots of information on your DDP and the menus on the wdwinfo website. When we used the dining plan last, we didn't get anything mailed to us about it. We did get a package with our luggage tags, Planet Hollywood coupons, etc in it. A great little pouch to keep your documents in!!

I hope this is your best trip yet!!! You can't go wrong staying on-site!! That just completes the Disney feel!

Thank you for that info. There will be three of us going, me, DH and DD. Will DD and DH's cards be attached to the same account as mine? Will they be able to charge stuff with their cards? I think I'm gonna have to bug Disney again!!!

You will all have a separate card but they will be "attached" in the computer to one account. I have DS17 and DD16 that I have not always gotten charging priveledges for (when they were younger) but DH and I have charging priveldges. You just tell them at check in who you want to be able to charge. Each card, it will be like a credit card with a picture of the castle on it, will have the guest's name on it. Be sure to use your card when you are going into the parks because whoever uses it first, that's who's finger scan is attached to it.

All of your dining credits will be attached together to each card, meaning that if one of you wants a meal or snack from one place and one from another, any card can be used and it will draw from the same total. The dining credits are not attached to each individual person. When we went over the summer, DH could not come with us so we used his dining credits too! We didn't mind! ;) Having everything on one card is wonderful! You don't have to carry anything else with you which makes it really easy for teenagers. DS walked over to Epcot several times on our stay and picked up a snack. He loved being able to get what he wanted without me having to be there to sign everything for him.

Be sure to tell the server at the restaurant that you have the dining plan. That way they will be sure to take the meal off your dining plan and not charge it to your room. Unless you tell them, they won't know the difference.

Have a great time and let us know how it goes!

I believe on the Deluxe Dining Plan you can use your credits as either Quick Service or Table Service, so the answer to your question is yes.
When are you going? How old is your DD?
As a PP mentioned the most important thing on the Deluxe Dining Plan will be to make your ADR's (Advanced Dining Reservations) well in advance. You can begin 180 days from your check in date. Many of the most popular restaurant meals fill up months in advance. Being on the DDP does not automatically guarantee you a reservation in the restaurant of your choice, you must book it well in advance.
There are menus for all of the restaurants here on the DIS as well as at allearsnet.com
Good Luck with your planning.

DD is 6. I'm not sure if I want her to be able to have charging privileges, but I kind of think she would have fun with it (having her "own" card to use). We are leaving here May 17th and will be there until the 23rd. Thanks for answering my questions. You guys have been great. I have already made my ADRs but I need to change one and add another one.

Your can get your DD a card without charging privileges.

We used a tip I got here on the Disboards . . .

My DH and I got charging privileges on our cards, but DS11 did not. He thought he was a 'big man' when he handed the restaurant servers HIS 'credit card' to deduct the meals from the Dining Plan. AND, this ensured that the meals were deducted from the DDP instead of being mistakenly charged to our room/credit card.

Worked out all the way around. :)

You know that is a great idea for making sure they don't charge the meal to your room. We never give our 12 year old charging privileges. I will have to use that when we go in March.

That is a cool idea. That would make DD feel like a grown up especially if she is the only one paying for the meals and snacks.
