We are going to be at WDW for 8 days ( 6 full days) . I just purchased 4 day hopper passes today and had 1 day leftover on passes from trip last year. The 6th day my DS and DH wanted to do Universal. After looking at website on Universal and IOA they have decided that they would rather spend all 6 days at Disney. I'm glad that they do, but I wish they had made that decision BEFORE I bought the 4 day passes!!!!! What should we do about our extra day at the WDW??? Should I just pay for 1 day admission? HELP!!

What about doing one of the water parks or resort hop, do Disney Quest or just check out your particular resort.Sleep in,swim and go out for a nice dinner at DTD.Just my opinons. We are going 7 days/6 nights and only getting 4 day PHP's and a water park ticket. 1 day to rest, relax and check out our resort. We are staying at WL for the first time.Yippee!!

From what I have learned in reading many posts like yours over time, I believe that I have your answer.

If you bought the passes to WDW through Disney there should be no problem with having the passes upgraded on the first day of use by paying the difference in what you have paid for the 4 day hoppers and the cost of the 5 day hoppers. This would be cheaper than buying the extra one day admission tickets.

If you bought the hoppers through some non-Disney ticket broker, then you will face a bit of a math challenge in figuring out what is cheapest option. The broker tickets are sold at a cut rate by Disney to the brokers and have been encoded with that price on the magnetic strip. So any value you may have paid for the tickets that is over the coded amount is not going to be honored on the upsell to the 5 day passes. So, depending on the price difference from the coded price on the hopper passes, you might find it cheaper to actually buy a full priced 1 day admission tickets. I hope this information is helpful and correct. lol Mickey

You can upgrade them to 5-day passes after you get there if you decide you want the sixth day. You don't even have to decide now. Just make sure you do it within seven days of first use so you get 100% credit on the new passes.

Thanks so much.....you guys are awesome. I didn't know that I could upgrade tickets. We bought tickets at the Disney store (thank goodness) so we shouldn't have a problem upgrading. We leave this Saturday and we are soooo excited. Thanks so much for the help.

Disnee Dad Says................................... If you are going to tour hard and "see" everything, I would save the cost of a ticket and have a rest day in the middle of your trip.
Of course this is a disney trip so when I say rest, I don't mean rest. Sleep in till the sun comes up! See some of the resorts and have lunch at one. Go to Downtown Disney, swim, try Disney Quest. This would be the day I do laundry, that's why we never check baggage, only carryons, but that is us.
The other option is, are you going next year? If you can squeeze in next years trip within 12 months go for an AP. That's what we did, used them down to the last hour!
