I'm having a really hard time trying to plan this years trip. Although it should be fun, this is far fom it. The 5 times that I've been down there I've either come mid to late april or april to beginning of may. Never during Easter or any other holiday. My 2 kids were young so taking them outta pre school wasn't really an issue. So here's my 1 st possible change. * Because I don't want to takle them out for too long from school. We normally come down for 9 nights*Driving from NJ. With school vacation days in mind I figured either Feb 11 - 19, or the dreaded Easter holiday Apr. 1 - 10th, but Now what I may have in mind is June 24th-jul 2nd. Each poses its own dilemmas. The problem here in lies. All 5 times I've come down , I think it rained for an hour in all those years, and the amount of people in the parks were mid to little.
What I'm told about during Easter spring break week, frightens the H**k outta me, And the Feb. week I'm not sure it will be hot enough to take advantage of the water parks & the pools. Now I thought I solved it by choosing June, but I just checked the wether channel.com & it seems it rains on average over 7 in. & 91 degrees on average. Someone anyone , please give me/ us any advice that would be helpful, I'm racking my brains trying to come up with the best solution...Thnx!!!

Weather in Orlando is completely unpredictable. During the summer it rains once a day, but it normally doesn't last more than thirty minutes in the afternoon so you can try to plan around it.. take that time to shop or eat in a restaurant.. If you are wanting to take advantage of the water parks then I would say June is a good time to go. The end of June/beginning of July is pretty busy because of July 4th. I was there in 2008 and they shut MK down pretty early because they hit capacity. Around Easter is really nuts because of Spring Break so I wouldn't suggest going then.

Your best bet would be to go beginning to mid June. It is hot enough to take advantage of the pools and water parks, but not too hot to manage the other parks. The crowds are pretty steady, nothing too crazy.

I hope this helps! I have spent an entire summer there so if you would like some more tips I will be happy to help :) Good luck!

DizDaD7- We have always loved our February trips. The parks are empty and the weather has generally been pleasant. As a Jersey girl I know my definition of warm can be vastly different from most and while it is certainly cooler we have been flexible with our schedule and if it is warm enough for a "lounging by the pool" day then we take advantage. We have the same attitude when it comes to the water parks. We always buy those tickets separate- rather than adding it to our package- so the money isn't wasted if we choose not to go. We spent the day at Blizzard during our December 2008 trip and had a wonderful and not at all cold time in the 75 degree weather and the heated pools. Plus the park was empty! We rode everything and then some before 1pm.
My recommendation is always going to be for the less crowded possibly cooler off times of the year! I know you and your family will have a wonderful trip no matter what the decision. Happy planning!
