I've wanted to get our DD one of those light-up balloons ad DL one night, but what do you do with the rest of the night when you go on rides? Can you take them on rides, especially indoor rides where the light might bother other guests? Do they turn off?

They do turn off, or at least the one we bought last year did. As for rides not sure as we bought ours on the way out of the park to go to the hotel for bed.

I'm planning on getting a Disneyland balloon on our next trip in May (purely as a souvenir, as i am 19) and am planning on tying it onto the strap of my bag during the rides so it will be close to me and out of the way. I wouldn't plan on going on any big rides with this technique though. I think Splash would be fine but anything faster and the balloon might pop :(

I've never seen a balloon on a ride with anyone.
Not sure if you can take them or not ..........

I've never seen a balloon on a ride either. I would get the balloon at the end of the day or before leaving for a break.

My DD2 (at the time) had a balloon and we were in line to ride IASW. The CM took the balloon from us and said she'd have it at the podium waiting for us when we returned. I assume this is standard operating procedure.

No, you got a nice CM. They typically don't offer to hold balloons, and if you see a balloon in the loading area it's usually tied to a wheelchair. For one thing the area would be full of balloons, and for another, CMs rotate frequently, having a balloon (or any item) holding procedure where one CM takes a balloon and another returns it is too complicated. Add me as another guest who in 30+ years has never seen a balloon on a ride.

As a 35+ year local APer and never seen a ballon on a attraction...

I bought DD a ballon once and I will never buy another one again unless it is on the way out. That thing kept hitting me in the face and tangled in our stroller wheel.

same here.

We did remove the light from inside the balloon and brought it home with us. It still works!

I would like to walk around with a balloon too. It was easy when we had a stroller, we just tied it to it when we went on an attraction. They need balloon holding stations outside each event. On a trust system lol
