Well as above really, if the free dining offer ends on 15th November and we dont have a flight price because we want to go either October or November 12,and the prices havent come out, would you just chance it and book room and tickets and free dining before 15th November and just hope the prices wont be too daft for booking flights later or do you think offer might get extended?
In the past ive always booked flights first, then accomadation, so being a big scaredy pants im after a bit of advice, thanks:)

I've booked accomodation/tickets/free dining with complete orlando for oct 2012 - no flights as yet.

Will book hopefully when they are released early December.

Oct/Nov are not peak time and if you are flexible on airport/indirect should be fine - aiming for £500 (or less) each again this year.

Agree in ideal world flights first is sensible but I wanted OKW deal.

They may extend - think was extended til March in the past but no guarantee.

Hi I had exactly the same worry. But the SSR deal with free dining in a 2 bed villa for 15 nights was just too good for the 6 of us we have booked for the 1 st of October so without flight price available, this is my 1st yr doing it DIY so I pray all works out fine!!! We are also hoping to go out a wk earlier and stay at universal hotel for a few nights then international drive so we can do universal seaworld and SHOPPING........ We can all pray for low prices on flights together :) Im desperately saving right now for when they come out as 6 flights is quite a lot:rotfl: xx

It will only cost you £50 to adjust your dates if you need to do so to accommodate flight deals. And I did phone and ask last Monday - they said you won't lose the deal if you amend your date within the Free Dining period offered.

Being a DVC member means I usually have accommodation booked long before flights! For our September trip - I booked our accommodation back last October but didn't get flights till June :thumbsup2

Don't panic too much there will be flights :goodvibes

:)Thanks for your replies, thats made me feel more confident about booking first, as we think the dining plan is a great saver for us, and it would be a shame to miss out just because I was a bit wobbly:rotfl:
Yes tinkerpea I will definetly join you on the cheapy flight prayer! Hope you get fixed up to, ooh ive gone from scaredy, to scaredy excited:thumbsup2

Thanks again to take trouble to answer:)

I almost always book flights first but for last years trip the OKW deal was coming to an end (they extended after I booked) so I booked, decided it was only £150 deposit (3 of us at £50 each) no big loss if I had to cancel.
It turned out I got the flights in Jan (Delta business class cheaper than VA economy) but 1 day longer than I had booked OKW, rang Disney.co.uk who added another night & DDP for £100, no extra fees.
If you change you reservation to a lower value they charge an admin fee, keep it same or increase it then you just pay the extra with no fees.

Im glad im not the only one trying to do things this way, it's a bit scary booking the accomodation befor the flights but it seems a whole lot cheaper to do it that way.

I've just booked it.
The way I see it, the worst that can happen is I lose the £150 deposit.......

I hadn't got the nerve to 'flight-watch' so I booked mine several months ago as part of a package. £2796 for 3 adults, 2 children MAN -MCO with Virgin for 29th Oct. Did I get a good deal? Only time will tell! I'd like to say that I won't check flight prices when they come out, but I know I will.:rotfl:

I'm guessing that price was for the flights only lol and not your whole package!! Checking and finding out you could have gotten it cheaper is horrid but yep we all do it we can't help ourselves:rotfl2:

That was for flight only. I have peace of mind knowing that I won't pay any more but I've no doubt that I will miss out on a 'bargain' somewhere along the line.:confused3

We also booked our accommodation at OKW before we had booked flights.

A few months later, we got a flight through Delta but a few days earlier than we had originally planned, so I called Disney and the dates were amended with no charges.

Or you can shift the dates to times when you can get better flight prices and add an extra night to avoid the amendment fee.

I have read your replies tonight on a few threads and it would appear that we have a similar way of thinking :)

I had already decided to do this so as not to lose the free dining offer, but as it turned out, the night I booked with Disney, I found flights on sale with BA and managed to do them - well not together - but on the same day :cool1:

Our problem is that not only do we have to be back for school for DD, we have to be back for DGF too, as she's a secondary school teacher.
So there's not much flexibility with the holiday flights for our October fortnight, I'm sure we'll get something though.....

Hi, I'm glad I found this thread because we've just booked OKW for next November to take advantage of dining plan/ticket offer etc but I was worried about not having flights until they are released by Virgin. It's nice to know that we can add a night or 2 before our official booked weeks with no extra charges if we can get a suitable flight out earlier:thumbsup2

I cannot wait:yay::yay:
