What to do if a guest shows up?

We are spending a week at BWI in early Dec. Our son teaches in Ft. Myers and has asked if he could come and spend a night with us. We are excited to see him but I wonder about any problems with letting him stay one night with us. Will he be allowed to park at BWI? Do we need to tell anyone that he is there? Also where do we get him park tickets--he is a FL resident so I would wonder if he gets a discount?
TIA

You can easily add an adult to your reservation. Just tell the front desk when you get there that you want to add this one person for one night. Assuming you already have two adults in your room, this will result in a $25 charge. Once he is added to the reservation, he will be allowed to park at the resort.

the dinsy rules nazis will be all over me for this.....but he will be fine parking in the guest lot and staying 1 night. If you are worried about the car...(i have never scebe a car towed)...have him park at downtown disney for a night and take a bus to your rsort.

People get drunk at bars all the time and have to leave cars overnight.

Just dont tell anyone.

If it;s going to be more than a night...yeah...play it by the book.

Yes, he will qualify for the Florida discount ticket. He can call the WDW ticket number and order a ticket to pick up at the park. If he will be going back to WDW sometime, the Fla. resident 3-day play pass is a good deal -- $154 including tax, no park hopper. It expires within 180 days, but he can buy no-expiration option and add park hopper option as well. I think there is still a Fla. discount if he just wants to buy daily park admission to one park. Have fun!

(Unfortunately, he will not be able to buy the Fla. tix for you because you have to show proof of residency).

Kudos to you for wanting to do the right thing. Once your son gets there, just go to the front desk and tell them that you have a visitor and get his registered. As mentioned, you'll have to pay the $25 for an extra adult in your room. When your son gets there, have him tell the guard that he is there to see you (give him your room number beforehand). He should be allowed to park in the guest lot. After you register him, have him put the parking pass on his car and you'll be fine.

He can purchase his pass either at the Boardwalk (ask at check in) or at the International Gateway with no problem.

I second this one!:thumbsup2

I have family in Florida and some one always shows up at the last minute.

I would never leave a car at DT Disney-had a few odd situations there recently and you would not want to risk that when the resorts will give a parking pass (usually without asking questions).

Speaking about "hiding" a guest - I have not been "called" on this, however the Dining plan policy for DVC is that EVERY guest has to buy a plan for EVERY night of the trip (not just the time they are there)

I am very cautious with honesty when it can cost me several hundred dollars (for something I won't be using)

This is true for packages, when everyone is listed on the existing reservation. Once you check-in, the package is erased from the system and you can then add someone on as a room only. We've done this when our daughter was in college and met us a day later.

In regards to the additional adult charge, our oldest has met up with us a few times since turning 18 and we've never been charged for her. I think it's built into the Disney reservation system to automatically charge it when you book online or through CRO, but seems to be CM discretion when they are added on after check-in.
