I do wonder the legality if the purpose behind the restrictions is to suppress prices so Disney can buy back cheaper. That’s market manipulation. I’m no expert but “it’s a timeshare they can do whatever they want” at some point doesn’t fly.

It's their product...they can literally do whatever they want. 100% legal.

I don’t think restrictions were done to buy cheap resale.

I think they were done to further make direct a different product then the resale product so that new buyers want to spend more for direct.

In terms of legality? There is nothing in any law that requires a developer to make rules that will protect the resale value of a timeshare.

However, on the legality front you changed what was said. The person said the purpose of the restrictions was to lower the price for Disney to buy back cheaper. That’s not the same thing as not protecting resale value.
No sense in going down an amateur real estate attorney rabbit hole just pointing out there’s a difference .

What I am saying is that even if one of the purposes of restrictions was to depress the market so they can pick up less expensive points, there is nothing that prevents them legally from having that as a goal.
