What are some of the things you want to request or try to get at check in? We are staying at Pop Century and this is our first time to stay onsite and our first trip with our children.

Thanks!

Bama, am not quite sure what you mean. When you check in, the CSR gives you what you need. If you need anything else later in your stay, you call the front desk and ask, they will either provide it or tell you it is not allowed. I hope this answers your question

Some people makes requests. Others do not when they check in. I have had very good luck just asking when I check in for non smoking, first floor, etc.

I always request a late check out for departure day. They only let a limited number of rooms do this- so ask early!

Silly...but we asked for extra soap! They have the cutest little Mickey soaps in the rooms and I always take back one or two for our godchildren.

Not sure if you were looking for this type of info...

Krismom- How late are we talking? We might be interested in this if it's available when we go. That is, if I'm not so excited when we get there that I forget to ask! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

You might want to ask for a certain section of the hotel. I have never stayed at POP before but you might ask for a section close to the pool or the main building or the busses. Some hotel property is so big there is a lot of walking.

might want to find out if there are highchairs available - since you are travelling with children. They usually have 1 in closet but it is good to be sure.

What is the latest they will let you check out?

I believe it is 1:00
This was at the Poly last week-

This is my list of questions to ask.

Ask for smoking or non-smoking room

Ask for fridge ($10 a day)

Ask for specific building/floor/section (for instance you may want to be closer to the food court, or you may want to be closer to the quiet pool. Others may want a first floor room).

Ask about park tickets

Ask about dinner show tickets

Ask for a crib or cot (if needed)

Ask if hotel is crowded, and if not, ask about a complimentary room upgrade. (Pop is 60's building)

Ask for Express Checkout. You'll need to leave a credit card number with them, but this means you won't have to go back to the front desk to check out on your day of departure

Ask for late check out. They allow a certain number of rooms per resort to check out of the resort later than the usual 11:00 a.m. Late checkout usually extends your room time until 1:00 pm, but this varies.

Have some more:

Mickey wake up call

extra room key

request more hangers

call Engineering Services (there is a button on the phone) and they will come and swap out your thermostat with one that is programmed to go even cooler.

Request that the sheets be changed daily

So...if I go in with all these things on this list & the previous list form eeyore kelly, are they going to throw us out on our ears? ;) Just kidding. Seriously, how many special requests have you made when checking in?

I would only ask for several requests when you check in. You will have a better chance of getting them before someone that has a whole list of them.

Goodness, I've never thought of asking half this stuff! I'd love to ask for a complimentary room upgrade, if it's not too busy - but honestly, how do you ask? I'd feel so weird and I'm not very "smooth" when it comes to hinting at stuff like that. DH and I just booked our next trip for May and it will be the anniversary of us getting engaged AT Disney - so maybe mentioning that will help? Any tips on politely asking for an upgrade????

I was wondering is it possible to get a complimentary room upgrade to the 60's building?

I wouldn't ask about Park tickets or dinner shows, I would know that and my TA would have taken care of that.

After I am in the room I call about the wake up call. I call engineering about the thermostat, and housekeeping about the sheets.

Another tip is if you don't get the late check out the first day ask everyday.

Oh and I usually wait on the extra room key until that night.

My must haves @ check in.
Top floor (don't like hearing people walking on my head).
No Smoking Room (can't stand smell makes me sick).
Away from the pool (I like it quiet).
Of course it should be clean.
Shouldn't have to ask for that.

You can't be serious about this....

No...that's 100% true!!!!
I always do that when I check in...These things work great!!! Gets the room nice and cold...I always travel with a large group of people and to save money, we like to bring our own food...by getting the extra cold thermostat, we are able to store meat in our room for the whole week without any spoilage whatsoever....A great little-known WDW perk :cool1:
