Another Pre-cruise Hotel Query. Port Everglades/FLL, this time.

I don't think any hotels offer a free shuttle to the port. Many offer a paid option though. There are some that have free shuttles from the airport.

We just stayed at the Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport and it was a nice hotel with several stores and restaurants in easy walking distance. Free airport shuttle and they offered a paid cruise shuttle that you could reserve. $20/pp
Did you happen to use the M Club there? My family of 4 is booked there for 1 night pre-cruise. Technically, Marriot rules say platinum elite members get free access along with ONE guest. But I've read about other Marriot's that allow all family members in the room to use the club together - just curious if you had experience with that or if anyone else does. Thank you!

I have not stayed at that particular hotel but likely with it being an airport hotel you will be fine. The main time I have seen attendance taking and limiting guests for the lounges is in Europe and at extremly busy locations stateside like in NYC.

Yes- no issues with the whole family attending. It was me, my wife, and our 2 children. We had evening hors d'oeuvres and also breakfast the next morning.

I use the lounges a lot and very rarely have I had any issue with my kids joining me. Even at properties where there is not a lounge and they give you breakfast vouchers for the restaurants I have almost always been given free vouchers for my children as well even though they are only required to provide them for the member +1 guest. (Though on the rare instance where I have encountered a property that wouldn't provide them for the kids I never argue- since they are correct that is the policy)

Has anyone stayed at the Hyatt Centric Las Olas?? Trying to maximize a FNC since they can’t be used at the Hyatt at MCO anymore.

We did in April. I booked it before I read reviews...some people complained about the construction/road noise but stayed on a Sunday so fortunately that wasn't an issue. It was a fairly quick 20 min Uber from the aiport (IIRC) and 15-20 min Uber to the port (with a bridge opening delay). We used a FNC as well so no complaints. There's a Publix a block away for last minute "oops I forgot" and lots of restaurants and shopping within a 5 min walk as well.

Thanks for the info, from my own research it sounded like a nice area. Just wanted to hear from a disboarder that had stayed there. I didn’t want to waste a FNC on a cheaper Hyatt.

Has anyone stayed at Lago Mar? Seems like it gets good reviews with a beach with a view of ship sailing in and some rooms that sleep 5
We stayed there last month for our cruise. It was decent and okay, definitely dated. There's a lot of beach and the ability to rent an umbrella with chairs was nice but the sand was extremely hot. The room was huge for two people (we had a king so it will be a slightly different layout) so 5 could easily fit in my opinion. There are steps to get into at least some rooms so keep that in mind.

Really my only complaints are: mini golf/shuffleboard areas are lacking and not well kept and having to drive through a neighborhood to get in and out. I enjoyed it overall though.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Fort Lauderdale Cruise-Airport on 17th Street in February. It was clean and quiet. They have a complimentary airport shuttle; while we had driven, we saw it come and go multiple times in the few days we stayed prior to cruising. The front desk coordinates.

They have a shuttle service for the cruise port that picks up just outside the lobby. If you want to use it to get to the port, you sign up at the front desk but pay the shuttle service directly. There were also several Ubers and cabs that picked people up to take to the port; we opted to use the shuttle service as we also needed transportation back to hotel post-cruise.

The DCL cruise terminal is an easy walk from the hotel - easier if the construction on the corner is done - we didn't realize it was so close (we were sailing on another cruise line whose terminal was quite a bit further).

The hotel is a 5-7 minute walk to a Publix, restaurants, and other shopping for any last-minute necessities. There's a pool, on-site laundry, and breakfast.
