What ride or attraction were you on (or in) that suprised you or one your party the most?

I hate to admit this! The 1st time I went to WDW there was only the MK. I was about 25 and the 1st ride we went on was Jungle Cruise. Please keep in mind that we had several Disney fanatic friends preparing us for our trip. They all kept telling us how unbelievable and real the rides and effects would be. So when the CM driver of the JC boat told us the Cruise would take about 6 hours, I believed it! I was so suprised when we came around a bend after 8 to 10 minutes and I saw the unloading platform.:banana:

Two things we experienced for the first time this past June.

1. Flights of Wonder - in all our trips we never took the time to see this. It was AMAZING! Dh, myself and kids 6 & 7 loved it! I was really surprised at how wonderful it was!

2. It's Tough to Be A Bug: Even after all the warnings I was really surprised at how scary this show is! My kids were fine, but I was a little spooked!

Soarin' I rode it for the first time when I was having a full blown stage 4 endometriosis attack. I was miserable, but thought it was only cramping, so we stayed in line(we'd been there awhile already). For the few minutes we were in the air, I thought I was all better. It was amazing! I still love it!

Also, Toy Story was great. I almost didn't ride the 1st time because the line was so long and I just couldn't imagine that another "Buzz" would be worth it. SO wrong!

We have been going also since the early 70's! We loved it all then, and echo all that the PP have mentioned, However, our trip last week, Kim Possible blew us away! I expected to have fun, but WOW!

I was suprised the most by the overall feeling you get while there. It consumes you into another world. Truly I felt as if I was gone from the earth and submerged into a fantasyland with it's own communication, transportation, food, people and just everything. And it was all started by one man's dream...... It was amazing, I can't wait to go back.

I was recently pleasantly surprised by by TSMM. I thought it would be a Buzz clone, but I was wonderfully mistaken.

I first visited WDW in 2000 at the age of 35, escorted by DW and our then 23yo daughter. Let's just say the whole experience of walking down Main Street that first time affected me in a way I never ever expected.

I was surprised at the volume of people that Disney moves from place to place with such efficiency. I know that there are times when things don't go quite right but when you look at the thousands that exit the parks every night at closing and how well Disney gets them on their way, you have to give them props for doing it so well.

I've been to WDW at least 35 times and I am still in awe the 1st time I walk down Main Street each trip!

I totally agree. Walking down Main Street (especially for the first time of my vacation) just makes me cry like a baby every single time! It truly takes my breath away.......

Well - my first big surprise was the crowds -- and I wasn't even there during a crowded time -- I was watching TOO many promotional videos -- they must film them at dawn with no people! :lmao: but it wasn't bad.

Now ... the neatest thing that suprised me was all the 3-D shows! I was just amazed! I had never seen anything like that before. I would always put my hand out to touch whatever was in front of me and I still do! :thumbsup2

How overcome I felt when watching Wishes with my DH and DD7! I never thought it would effect me like that. I am now officially addicted to Disney...only 11 days till I am back in the World:woohoo:

My DD8 wanted to do something in Innoventions which looked suitable for preschoolers only. I'm talking about the piggy bank game. If you've never done it, heard of it, or disregarded it because (like me) you thought it was just for small children, check it out. We laughed the whole time we played and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Watching the pig move from point to point was hysterical. Was it that great? Maybe not, but considering that our expectations were so low... it was a blast. :goodvibes
Oh, and for those in the know... we didn't quite save enough for retirement but our DDs saved enough for their cool bedroom.

From an attraction point of view, I would say what surprised me the most were 2 attractions - both in the AK.

1) Flights of Wonder. I had never really heard (or paid much attention to) this show. We went just to kind of sit down, and maybe do something a bit different. But Wow! What a great show. We can't wait to go back to it again.

2) Festival of the Lion King. Again, I never paid much attention to the talk about this show, and honestly didn't have very high expectations about it, and again, I was blown away by how great it was. This show was one of the highlights of our trip.

The ride that surprised me the most was PETER PAN. I couldn't believe this ride was over in about or just under 1 minute!

I have to agree with most of the previous posters but I would have to add BTMRR. This ride is so much fun but then I rode it at night and it is so very different! I can't wait to do it again!

For us it is Rafiki's Planet Watch. While we were in AK, on our March trip, we happened to walk by the entrance just after we got off of KS. The CM told us that we should go check it out. My DDs pulled my DH and I and said let's go...so we did. We took the train over, which was o.k. but the girls loved it, then as we entered the building, we were amazed with all the stuff that was inside. My kids LOVED the Affection Section plus we got to see Pocohantas, Rafiki, and my favorite guy Jiminy Cricket :lovestruc. We spent a long time exploring back there. We can't wait to return in December.

On our last night in August we were at MK at 12:00AM standing in line to see The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh one more time because my 14 and 16 year old sons wanted to see the picture of Mr Toad handing the deed for his house to Pooh (we missed it the first time we rode).

As I looked around at the assortment of adults and young teens travelling without young kids, I thought to myself.... Where else but DisneyWorld would adults stand in line to see a ride called "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh". Gotta love it.

Dinosaur at AK was the big surprise to all of us!! Not because it's our favorite ride..but because we were expecting just another thrill ride. We were all surprised by how terrified we were on that ride! The picture we got on the ride says it all.. me(23), my sister (22), my boyfriend (24), and my brother (13) are all closing our eyes and holding our ears with our faces in the seats!! :rotfl: We were def. surprised by the intensity of that ride!!

Crush's Coaster at Disneyland Paris. After over 50 trips to WDW and DLRP, I didn't think anything could still take my breath away. But this one did it. I wish they'd bring it to WDW.

What a wonderful description! I've never been to Disney (yet!) but that's exactly what I imagine it to be like.
