Taking lots of notes since we are thinking of renting a house over the Christmas holidays....
I was just wondering what the owners or management companies do with all the leftover stock...eg Dish soap. If I buy a bottle of dish soap, chances are I'm not going to use the whole thing and I'm not going to bring it home with me. does it just get tossed out?
I'm just curious as it just seems like such a waste if this is being done every week in multiple rental condos and houses throughout Orlando.
I agree that there is some waste particularly in foodstuffs that get tossed when
folks leave.
Folks just expect clean linens and towels, new unwrapped soap, a clean fridge, etc. Its something that you just have to do.
The wasted food does particularly bother me. Knowing another group is
coming in; it wo

uld be nice to keep those juice boxes, that half dozen eggs,
etc. Unfortunately we just cant do it.
Shifting gears a bit, you are doing yourself a favor to rent a house. Before
we bought a house, we stayed on disney property at cheaper and fancier places.
Its nice and there is something special about being on property. BUT...rent a
house and you will be spoiled forever. Private pool, the privacy of a
multi-bedroom house, the space, the kitchen, multiple bathrooms with showers,
the laundry, etc, etc,. You really get spoiled and its hard to imagine a hotel
room, even a nice one after you've stayed in your own private house. They
really are a value nowadays as the market is so saturated with rentals.
Hmmm....a 650 sf hotel room for $150/night or a 4 bedroom house with a private
pool for $130/night???? Let me think.....
