What songs make you sad?

I Know This Much Is True by Tears For Fears

Can't tell you why, but I just can't listen to it without being overcome with sadness.

"Heaven," the Bryan Adams version. Sort of silly to think about it now, but the day after I broke up with my first love, this song came on the radio in my bedroom as I was crying on my best friend's shoulder. I cannot hear that song without remembering how much pain I was in that day-- and tearing up a bit.

Let's see
One more day by Lonestar
Amazing Grace by Off Kilter (if you have been to WDW Epcot in the Canada World showcase) you will know what I am talking about.
Holes in the floor of heaven
Sissy's song by Alan Jackson
I so many more. I am just a big cry baby

Anyone remember "Where Have You Been?" by Kathy Mattea? Goodness, it tears me to shreds.

"Flying for Me" by John Denver (written after the Challenger accident, he was originally supposed to be on the shuttle)

And here's a second for "My Old Kentucky Home." I can't hear it without big old tears wellin' up in my eyes. When I was in the college program years ago, I watched the Kentucky Derby on my break underneath Main Street. I was so homesick and fell apart when they started playing that song.

I have more, but these stand out for me.

And edited to add.. "Don't You Forget About Me." Reminds me so much of some high school friends that I thought I could never live without. All these years later, after losing touch for too long, I no longer have the option of seeing some of them as they have left this Earth way too early.

My favorite song "If you only knew" by Shinedown is also the saddest for me.

Letters From War by Mark Schultz---I can't listen to this without sobbing like an idiot, I have 2 boys so the thought of that being them gets me.

Crucified by Tori Amos

Don't Blink by Kenny Chesney, another song where I seriously lose it about how fleeting life is so Don't Blink or you'll miss it.

Home by Michael Bubble...playing in the car as I watched the airplane leave with my DH on it to Iraq...
Hero by Enrique Iglesias...playing in the airport as my then boyfriend was leaving to Korea
I swear these sappy sad songs come just in time for a very sad time in my life.
Sarah Mclachlan's Angel is one of the saddest songs to me. I cant stand the ASPCA commercial. I just start crying!:sad1:

"Angel" by Sarah MacLachlan. My friend's sister was murdered almost six years ago, and we sang it at her funeral, since this was her favorite song.

"I Swear" by All 4 One. I sang this at my best friend's wedding 16 years ago during the unity candle lighting, and then had to sing it again two weeks later at her funeral (she was killed by a drunk driver). I can't hear either of those songs without turning into a gross, disgusting, sobbing mess...

I Can Only Imagine -MercyMe
You Raise Me Up -Josh Groban ...

That is one of my favorites "I Can Only Imagine". I do have to say though, that I'm not very fond of "You Raise Me Up".... I think it's pretty much a rip-off of "Danny Boy" (which I like very much and think that "YRMU" just kind of stole the tune).

agnes!

Oh my gosh...how awful. I am so sorry for your losses.

"Watching Over Me" by Iced Earth
"Fade to Black" by Metallica
"Tears of the Dragon" by Bruce Dickinson
"Hollow" by Pantera

That's horrible. I am so sorry.

:sad1: "She's With Me" by Collin Raye, it was written to call attention to & raise money for research into his granddaughters rare neurological condition, & now unfortunately she has passed away.:sad1::sad1::sad1:

"Tears in Heaven" ... it came out about 3 months after my dd passed away. It just put everything I was feeling into words.
"The Dance"
"Who You'd Be Today" by Kenny Chesney...I am alright until he gets to the part about 'what would you name your babies". My dd turned 17 this year, and even though she is gone I wonder those things sometimes. I never get passed that line.
"A New Day" by Celione Dion isn't so much sad for me, everytime I hear this song I am reminded how much my ds16 brought me through some rough times. I waited for his birth like no other.

There are so many songs out there I could cry too. Pretty much every single one of the songs on this thread could turn me into a sniffling mess.

Kelly

:sad1:The song:" Time to say Goodbye" .-Andrea Bocelli

My mother died in my arms (cancer), she said to me, "its time to say goodbye", she was my best friend . Since then I can´t even hear that song...

"Candle in the Wind" ~ Elton John

"Remember the night" eve6 - it was my graduation song

I agree with some of the songs listed already.
Ave Maria will reduce me to tears at the first notes. It was my Gram's favorite Christmas song and remnds me of her and how much I miss her.

Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks. It's an oldie but I can't hear it without crying.

Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by GreenDay. My DD wants this played at her funeral, she's 23 and not dying but planning ahead.

It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday by Boys 2 Men.
