What songs make you sad?

Everybody Hurts. (I know its corny)
A Dream is a Wish. (chokes me up everytime)

I can't believe I forgot 'The Prayer' by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. So beautiful that I cry every time I hear it.

Also agree with 'you're Gonna Miss this' :sad1:

I forgot a couple:

Moments by Emerson Drive
Travelling Soldier by Dixie Chicks

Angel by Sarah McLachlin. I remember it being out around the time JFK Jr died. Then my aunts best friend's husband died and he had requested it be sung at his funeral (my aunt sung it). He saw it on the ASPCA commercials. He had depression problems and I think he related to it (he died following open heart surgery but I think he knew he wasn't going to live).

I forgot about that one. :( Breaks my heart.

You're Gonna Miss This by Trace Atkins. About how time flies, basically, oh....:guilty: I can't even write about it! I put it on my iPod and when it shuffles to this song I can't even listen most times.

Hero by Mariah Carey... It was played at my best friend's memorial service.

Forget Tears in Heaven. I just have to turn it off. Big lump-in-the-throat song.

I had never read the lyrics to that song...God...how true is it?! You WILL miss it. I think constantly about how fleeting childhood was and how much I DO miss it. I remember being 12 and hating it...wanting to be a grown up and now I want to be 12 again ;)

Hmm,

"Concrete Angel" -- Martina McBride

"Live Like You Were Dying" -- Tim McGraw

"Can Heaven Wait" -- Luther Vandross. I still can't listen to this song, but I won't get into the reasons why.

"One of Us"-- Joan Osborne

"Violin" -- Christopher Williams. It's not necessarily sad, it's just really quite beautiful and became my absolute favorite song from the first time I heard it. I've been in love with the singer for years -- my husband understands :)

"Hole in the World" -- The Eagles

Another poster mentioned "Hard Habit to Break." I have this song on my iPod; I like to think it's the way my exes feel about me now ;) I know, I'm a wicked, petty person.

once again I agree with the above

I thought of another one- "Home" by Michael Buble. I remember hearing this song while evacuated for Hurricane Katrina and just :sad1:

"Everytime" By Britney Spears. I have no idea why but I always cry when I hear it.

"I'll Stand By You" By Carrie Underwood

"Cry" by Kelly Clarkson

"Run" By Snow Patrol

Agree with all of these, especially since "Cry" was my original pick in my last post.

"Run" just has that desperation in it that makes me want the person in the song to make it through, and wanna scream out "CMON! YOU CAN DO IT! DON'T STOP NOW!", but I obviously can't, y'know! :lmao:

and "Everytime" made me sad when I first heard it, because at the time, I was still a big Britney fan, and I had this feeling that she sang this for Justin Timberlake (this song was done right after they broke up, I believe).

Ever since this song, I always feel like Justin's a big jerk, and I wanna punt him into the next millennium! :thumbsup2

YES! I know what you mean. I think I was about 15 and I was a HUGE Britney fan, I still am a fan, just not a crazy about it. That music video made me really sad. And so did the "Lucky" video.

And speaking of music videos, I remember when Metallica's "Turn the Page" came out, that was a very sad music video and I always think of it when I listen to the song.

I just thought of another couple:

Viva La Vida by Coldplay. The choir at my school sang this and I was teary eyed. Surprised I was able to play still after that. I'm really excited to get to skate to this next year.

Fireflies by Owl City.

You Must Love Me from Evita. Sung by Madonna.
