Looking at trying to pick sit down restaurants for a 7 day pass to Disney World. We have 2 boys that are recently 9 and 10.

Here's what I had thought we might do: Sci Fi Theater Dine In, 50's Prime Time Cafe, Be Our Guest for dinner, Cinderella's Royal Table (thoughts?), Via Napoli, Garden Grill for Breakfast, Chef Mickey's, Biergarten because of atmosphere (thoughts?), ohana.

Are there things on this list you would skip or change? What about adding Liberty Tavern at Magic Kingdom and Tuskers at Animal Kingdom. If so, what would you ditch?

when are you going?

Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge will be doing a character dinner called Storybook Dining and it will feature characters from Snow White! Evil Queen (possibly just a meet/greet before entering), Snow White and maybe Grumpy? Someone will know more.

I thought maybe that instead of the Cinderella's Royal Table. :)

Looks like a really good list. Biergarten is a must do every trip for us. We like the food and the band's show and DH likes the beer :). DH's first question is always "What day are we going to Biergarten?"

CRT- there is just something special about eating in the castle. On past trips (and we have been there many times) we have thought the food was just so-so and we were there just for the Princesses and being in the castle- HOWEVER, we were there about 2 weeks ago and they had a new menu from the one they had our last trip and our food was great. We thought it was one of the best meals we had during our WDW trip-- even DH who had been asking if we really had to eat there again because the food was mediocre said he was really glad I made him go because he really really enjoyed it this time

If we were dropping any from your list, we would probably drop Chef Mickey's-and do a Tusker House breakfast instead. We have not been to Chef Mickey's for years because our last time there- which was for dinner-- was not great. That doesn't mean it isn't great now, so someone that has been there recently can give you a better idea. We've done lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern and were not real impressed, but some people absolutely love it.

You've got a good list though I'd question if your boys would really want to do dining in the Castle and princesses. Chef Mickey's is also pretty universally panned. I'd definitely consider swapping out Tusker House for it. Tusker is the one and only character meal that we return to.

I have an 11-year old son. He has zero interest in character meals at this point. He would actually prefer going to a signature and getting a good steak!

Of the restaurants on your list, I would keep Sci-Fi, 50's Prime Time, Via Napoli and Biergarten. Possibly O'hana (DS loved it, I hated it, LOL!) My son LOVES Whispering Canyon (ask for ketchup) and we ended up eating there 3 times one trip (we were staying at WL). In MK, consider Liberty Tree or Skipper Canteen. In Animal Kingdom, if you want a character meal, Tusker House is our favorite. If you would rather not do characters, try Yak and Yeti. Do your kids like sports? If so, although the food isn't great, my son loves ESPN Club on the Boardwalk.

Edited to add: I would not do BOG dinner or CRT with them. IMHO, you could spend the same amount of money and have a better experience at a signature like Cali Grill (where you can see the EP, DHS and MK fireworks)

I think those are all good choices. However I will say my then 9 year old son did not enjoy Cinderella’s table at all. We went for his sisters and he was a good sport but he would have rather been anywhere else! He couldn’t care less about BOG either. If they want to meet Beast it’s good but otherwise I wouldn’t. Possibly do it for lunch. Maybe Skipper Canteen for MK? We enjoyed Chef Mickey’s for brunch, I hear complaints about it but we didn’t have any. Also I’d suggest Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge.

When I ask my kids where they want to eat (3 boys - 14, 11, 9) they all answer Tusker House (they love the buffet, not super crazy about the characters) and Garden Grill for dinner (again more the food and atmosphere than the characters). Coral Reef is the third "must-do" when we go. Be Our Guest lunch is a must as well. My oldest liked Be Our Guest dinner because of the diverse options they had that are gluten free since he has Celiac, but the other two felt it took much too long to eat there. I like Liberty Tree Tavern, but none of them were impressed. We are going to try Skipper Canteen in February when we go. We tried San Angel Inn for the first time last trip and they really liked the atmosphere there as well. We are doing that again next time. They like the atmosphere at Sci Fi, but don't like the food.

We are taking our DS 13 and our ADR's are: BOG for Lunch - for the experience, Teppen Edo - Japanese & they cook in front of you, O'Hana no need to say anymore, Sci-Fi I think he will think it's cool (probably not, lol) and Cape May - he loves crab legs and they are all you can eat buffet.
I wouldn't take him to see the Princesses, when he was 4 he was in love with them, but not now as a teen.

I wouldn't do BOG or CRT with them. If you are paying OOP and willing to pay for CRT look at a signature place instead. What meal are you thinking of for Chef Mickeys? The food isn't really very good and if they aren't interested in the characters it is really not worth the cost!!! What type of food do they like?
