What should you do with the new DVC Planner?

What do you think of the DVC *2009* Planner?

  • It's useless....it's almost 2010

  • I LOVE it! I will use it as a keepsake!

  • I wish I could "opt out" and veiw it online

  • I can take it or leave it

  • Bring back to old "3 ring binders!"

Inspired by another thread on this forum I got to thinking about the new DVC *2009* Planner and decided to post a poll about it....so here goes!

I voted for "opt out" and view it online....it seems like a waste of money and trees!

Well I chose opt out as well, just a little something to help out on MF's and the enviroment. Besides would be no waiting for dang printers.....Shawnpirate:

I chose opt-out too, but if that isn't going to happen, going back to a 3-ring binder format would be ideal.

Haven't figured out which to vote for -- normally I would go for the "online" option -- but DVC site, like other Disney sites, is very difficult to use -- slow-loading, hard to find stuff, stuff that should be on there isn't, etc. so I might go for the hard copy (paperback is fine for me; the 2008-09 one I got is fine). I'm new so never got the 3-ring binder, altho that does sound nice. Actually, the one I have has some unnecessary expensive printing features that could easily go away, altho they are classy. And it's handy to have the hard copy for notes, etc. (So I guess I lean toward the keepsake option, rather than online). I like having all the points charts printed, for easy comparison.

Oh -- BTW, has anyone gotten a new one? I've just seen questions from people wondering where it is.

I haven't owned long enough to have had the binders, but i voted to go back to those. Makes a lot of sense. We get a hard copy, and less printing for updates.

I haven't seen the new planner either. so I couldn't tell you one way or another
Would love to get something. it seems very hit or miss that some are getting them and others aren't. :confused3

Project management is everything in my world; planning the proposal, planning the timing, planning the marketing, planning the commercial side, planning the execution; then implementing the plans, and evaluating the efforts and outcome. Then make adjustments for the next effort.

I hope DVC uses the results of the 2009 planner to make improvements in their execution side.

With an eleven and seven month window advantage, isn't issueing planners 2010 is seven months away defeating the purpose? :confused3

Haven't received mine yet, but I voted for opting out. I go right to the website for any planning that I do anyway. I'd rather them save the trees, and expenses of printing/shipping, and reduce our dues a few cents.

Ahhhh! From one PM to another...you speak my language! :cloud9:

Having the option online would allow them to flex with the business need. I'm wondering if there's something in the contractual agreement that requires them to send mailings to owners?:confused3 Not everyone (okay...almost, but not everyone) has access to online information. As much as I love it for a keepsake, I say save the dollars, and put it online if possible! :thumbsup2

For some reason, I usually thumb through them and then stick them in a file cabinet. I have no idea why I do that, because I never look at them again until I throw them away when the new one comes.

To be honest, I didn't even know I hadn't received 2009 yet!

I voted opt out and useless.

I didn't realize we could have multiple choices! I would vote for useless and bring back the 3 ring binders.

I haven't received the new planner yet so I reserve the right to change my mind after seeing it.

Right now it seems to me the planner is USELESS. Most everyone has already booked their 2009 trips. They should have just skipped it with an apology and gotten onto the 2010 planner - seems to me they need the time to get the job done. ;)

I wonder if they'd get the message if we all started dropping our 2009 planners off at the front desk. I know, "Its out of the way", "I've got to lug it with me?"... "blah, blah, blah"... but imagine:

How many DVC members are on site any given day? perhaps 10K?
Even if 5% of the people (500 a day), would drop their planners off at that front desk, it would most likely send a message they can't ignore.

I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!! I am going to drop mine off in July....anyone else care to join in?! I mean come on DVC....read the results of this poll...only 21 % of the people that have responded to this poll so far "love it!" I would personally rather see another lounge chair added to a pool area!

Probably be a lot more effective if you just sent a note to Member Satisfaction. Have you done that?

Who? Me? or the OP? LOL... if you read my first line I haven't received mine yet... I'm reserving official judgment until it gets here. For planning purposes I do everything online anyway. Books are nice to show to family and friends though.

All I'm saying is: A physical dumping of 500 books a day can't be ignored. 500 emails a day are annoying but nothing the delete key can't fix. ;)

I think I must have opted out and I don't know it - since I haven't received one yet

Definitely vote for the opt out - and maybe they could put the money that they saved into making the website better:thumbsup2
