What room at AKL??

Thank you to all of you who helped convinced my DH to try AKL. Of course we are on a budget (buying a new house) so I was going to do the standard room but of course after reading all the posts and realizing we probably won't be back for a couple of years (of couse the AP rate helps too) we decided to spring for the savannah view............SOOOOO to my next question........What are your suggestions for room requests. Location? Floor? Room? Thanks again!

We are going over Thanksgiving, and I've read that the Zebra trail, Arush savannah has good views. Don't know about the floor. There's lots of info on this thread for AKL: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68312

I was on the Kudo trail, floor 3, dont remeber the number, I wanna say something like 3525, a walk from the elevator but the animal viewing was fantastic, that room was worth ever cent

we stayed in Room 4425, which is on the 4th floor, Zebra Trail overlooking Arusha savannah. Great view!!!!

I've read that post........thanks for the link. The only problem is that seems like older info. Just wondering in any recent visitors had any info. I think I'm going to request the second floor, that seems high on the list.

We had room 4229, and it had a great view. Here's a link to my pics from that trip:

Also, here is a link from our more recent trip. On this trip we had room 4224 (not as good of a view as the other room), but the pics of the interior of the room are much better. On the other trip I was just getting used to my digital camera.

I booked savanah view. It was strange, I originally booked coronado springs 3 nites at discount rate 85 dollars a nite because AKL had no savanah rooms (actually I couldnt get 3 nites in any view). I called back the next day and said I wanted to upgrade to a deluxe resort, preferrably AKL
Poof! my room is available at discounted price, 154 a nite.
How close do the giraffes come?

The giraffes came within 20-30 feet. We loved the 2nd floor room, and I'd recommend it, but there's probably a great view from all floors.
I just requested Arusha savannah and ended up at the far end from the pool and restaurants. Zebra trail would be the wing closer to the pool and restaurants. We had a great view of animals, however, and our room was in a very quiet area. Have a great trip!

The giraffe can get as close as 20 to 30 feet. I would request the Zebra Trail so this way you would be close to the pool, food court and a good view of the animals.
