What restaurant do you recommend to go to with a Fantasmic package?

I understand the choices are Brown Derby, Hollywood and Vine, and Mama Melrose. Which one should we choose? Good and bad experiences? Thanks!

No restaurant at DHS is particularly great. Glance over the menus and see what options would most appeal to your family.

Keep in mind H&V is a buffet. If you want a buffet, this is your only choice. If you dont want a buffet, choose between Italian and American.

No real contest--Brown Derby. Nice looking restaurant and far better food than the other spots.

I LOVE Mama Melrose. We ate there in December 08 and had the best meal.

We also ate at Brown Derby last December, and it wasn't nearly as good as it had been in August 03. It could have just been an off night, but I was disappointed.

I have only had breakfast at Hollywood & Vine, so I do not know what lunch or dinner might be like there.

I would pick brown derby- but that's also the most expensive- but def best in my opinion.

We had a not good expereicne at H&V for dinner on our last trip and none of use would like to ever eat there again for dinner.
We woudl try Mama melrose for it if we couldn't afford brown derby.

But if you're going to mamas- just go in w/ expectations of olive garden or something NOT fine italian dining

We did H&V twice (should have stopped after the first time). Horrible service and even worse food.

We did Brown Derby once. We were not impressed--service was horrible and food mediocre at best. We just haven't gone to give it a second try because we don't want to use two table service credits on it when we have too many restaurants we do love and still want to try.

We always do Mama Melrose. Weren't very impressed with it the very first time, but we really enjoy it now. We always have good food and good service here. It is a relaxing time for us.

We picked Mama Melrose in 05. It was ok but nothing special. Last year we did Sci-Fi which is not part of the Fantasmic package but we had no problems getting a seat for the show. Next month we will be trying 50's Prime Time Cafe and hoping we have the same experience with the show.

We really enjoyed MM. Did not care for H & V. Have not tried BD.

I would pick Brown Derby, we liked it there...did not like H&V.

We've eaten at Mama Melrose the first two times we did the Fantasmic Package, and we chose it again this morning when we made ADR's. The first time we went, the food was FABULOUS, and the atmosphere very Billy Joel - "I'll meet you anytime you want, at our Italian restaurant".

The next time, the menu had changed, and the new dishes were somewhat lacking by comparison. It wasn't bad, by any means, but it wasn't nearly as good as we remembered, either. It was also much more crowded and noisy.

When deciding for this trip, we felt like H&V was a poorly reviewed buffet, and we have MORE than enough buffets with all our character dinners. Brown Derby looks good, but we can't see wasting 2 table service credits on eating at DHS, particularly at the times that have been coming up for the package. (We got stuck with 3:50 for dinner at Mama Melrose!) So, we went with Mama Melrose again, just for the variety in our ADRs.
