What resort would you choose for YOU?

If you were given $$$ to spend on your next vacation property, which one would you pick for yourself? Consider your own situation, dues, room-sizes, location, resort theme, etc.

Maybe you want an add-on at your current property, or maybe SSR is calling out to you… Buy from DVC or a re-sale… doesn’t matter here.

Here is some money… go buy your next DVC dream!

That was easy! I would add on enough points at OKW so I could stay there all the month of January!

By the "you" comment, I immediately thought, "You mean just for me... no kids... not even dh... I get to choose selfishly just for moi... for a "moi-only" vacation!" Oh just imagine!!

I'd have to choose VWL. It just says majestic mountain hide-away to me. It's cool, soothing comfort in the summer and warm, cozy charm in the winter. I do love all the resorts...they all have special charm... but if I could have a Calgon take-me-away moment ala DVC, it would be at VWL, hands-down.

As for DH... he was in total awe when we got our first real glimpse of VWL ... and he loved our stay there. He would have switched our BWV ownership to VWL in a heartbeat!! But then DH saw BCV. I can honestly say that would be his choice. He loved the theming, the amenities -- it was like getting BWV but with more relaxed "beachy" feel.

He's VERY sand, sun, and surf... whereas I'm woods, lakes and streams. He spent his every vacation as a child at the beach... we camped in the mtns.

If Blizzard Beach makes a set of villas, we might just have a home together!! (Good thing for now we're not locked into only one resort! )

In fact I haven't figured out an answer to my own question....

VWL is my absolute favorite resort. DW is a BWV fan... the kids like SAB so it's BCV for them. We've already got BWV and VWL covered... but could always use some more points.

On the other hand, HHI would be way cool to have for those hard to get long weekends... Speaking of non-WDW trips, a cache of non-DVC might be a benefit also...

Why is it harder to spend free money than it is to spend the the real stuff?

Hard to select as we love both of the resorts we own at and like all of the resorts. If we added, we would buy OKW resale.

But if AKL villas were ever built -- hmmmm -- that could change things!

I would stick with where all my points are currently at which is BWV. I have several reasons for this: I love the fantastic location and it has everything I desire on a vacation; it has a very good resale value and will continue to have one of the best resale values; it is a resort I would be very content to stay at for every future WDW trip and the 2nd biggest reason, after the location, etc-----it is so MUCH easier to have all my points at one resort.

I hear ya' on the pts-at-one-place thing! Even though I love VWL, and dh loves BCV, when we had the chance to add on to our home resort of BWV, that's what we did... it just made things easier, somehow!

Weown at 3 resorts.. OKW (golf) is for my DH, BCV (SAB) is for the kids, and BWV (Food and Wine, Super Soap) is for me........

But I voted SSR...... for it's location. I think it would be a wonderful girls weekend of shopping and nitelife at Pleasure Island.......

Hands down - Boardwalk and enough to get a GV for ten days every year.

Our all time favorite would be HH. We have enough points now for a week in the summer. Would spend all my $$'s adding on again to be able to stay longer. A couple of weeks would be excellent.

As for WDW itself, I'm not sure we have a favorite. Each trip is unique in itself and we've always stayed at a different location. Maybe in time we'll decide on a favorite but right now, we enjoy the flexibility of staying someplace new. So, if given $$ to spend, I'd have to add on at either SSR or BWV.....the two places we call "home" just so we'd have the extra points for more trips.

We bought at BWV in 2000. I have stayed at OKW and WLV and have enjoyed these villas. Our first love is still the BWV and have added points there 3 times since we joined. It is so much easier to walk to the parks with strollers and a wheelchair.

I voted for BWV. But that may change after we go to BCV in 4 weeks!!!

I love the location. Stormalong Bay is just awesome. I also like having DVD players in the rooms.
