I would like to see a ship home ported out of Galveston. So many options including Central America.

I was trying to include ports that they have not done on a regular basis (like for a whole season). I know they have ported in Galveston for several years now, just like PC and L.A. I guess they have ported in Seattle for Alaska, too.

True, but Galveston has been a winter port only, and not every year. I think Disney could make a mint sailing out of Texas in the Spring and Summer.

New York City because it is an amazing city from which to sail.....and stopping in Bermuda! The previous cruises from NYC to Port Canaveral, Bahamas, and CC had the WORST itineraries. What a waste of $$. At least our upcoming cruise is going to St. Maarten, Tortola, and ending in San Juan....only downside is it's on the Magic (as are all the cruises from NYC).

Another great option would be San Juan. It's another great place from which to sail and DCL could finally go to some great new southern Caribbean ports!

Or....how about base it in Asia and visit Disneylands in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo!

Or...how about South American cruises or Hawaiian cruises with a stay at Aulani?

Soooo many options...but I bet it's going to be more of the same old, same old. Yawn.

Wouldn't want to waste a week traveling to/from Hawaii. I was thinking more of basing it in Hawaii, doing the islands for a week and a few days in Aulani. With travel that would be 12-14 days....

Well, I doubt that Disney would do this. They'd have to reflag the ship (whichever one) to be US flagged, and follow all US labor laws.

Ha! Disney isn't going to do what most people on this thread have suggested....but the original post was for kind of a pie in the sky wish list....

Baltimore!!!!
Definitely my first choice!
It's "easy" to reach for everyone on the Eastern Seaboard (relatively speaking).
Need something in between Florida and NY.

I would also vote New Jersey over Manhattan.
Reports from people that drove to the Manhattan terminal sound like an absolute nightmare (returning to a different pier than where your car is, disorganized, must cross several very busy streets by foot, etc) - all this with small children, babies, and a ton of luggage - no thanks! Disney is THE family cruise line, so I wish they'd take those things into account.
Otherwise it would be so great to have a home port on the East Coast besides the ones in Florida!

Other ideas: Norfolk, Charleston, or Jacksonville.

Sydney, Australia since we live so close to the port here! Yearly cruises on DCL sounds like heaven.

I could handle that, although I'd prefer Melbourne ;)

I'd prefer Auckland ;) but Sydney/Melbourne would be great. Much easier to get to and would be able to fly 4 of us return for the price of 1 return ticket to Port Canaveral. Then we'd be able to cruise much more often

I kinda left West Coast as open options -- Seattle, San Diego, etc. I feel the same way about NYC though -- we can get there by driving only 90 minutes and anything that doesn't require an airplane or airport security is a win win in my book!
Unfortunately I have no interest in going most of the locations a WC port has to offer . I want to cruise to places with sand and palm trees. It's quite a predicament .

I know this is a dream list of where to port a ship, but I agree, you have to take into consideration of where it could go from that port with different length cruises. A 3 night SoCal port is just going to go to Ensenada as they are now, I haven't been there in a while, but not that nice. I very much preferred the southern Mexico ports but that is at least a 5 night cruise to get there. Maybe a back and forth out of Vancouver up and down the coast would be nice... in the summer. But that takes away from the Alaska ports. NYC is great for proximity as I could drive, as we did a few weeks ago, but you are relegated to the Bahamas or Bermuda for warm weather even on a 7 night. I would love to see what people think of destinations from some of these ports.

That's a shame. The two times we sailed from there it was so organized and convenient -- they directed us where to park so we'd be where the ship docked upon return. We returned to NYC on a one-way cruise from Quebec and my only complaint was it took forever to get a cab to get to the rental place, but still love sailing from there. The parking is pricey, but we found getting there and leaving to be very convenient.

One logical choice (at least for one of the classics because the newer ships won't fit under our bridge) is Tampa. It's a wash with New Orleans as far as access to the Gulf of Mexico and the Western Caribbean, but still close enough to WDW to allow passengers to add-on a trip there if they want.

A very good point. I should have started a thread about where to go and THEN done the poll LOL.

Yes. Two in 2012 (round trips out of Los Angeles). And two in 2015 (one way Vancouver/Hawaii & Hawaii/Vancouver).

The Hawaii/Vancouver itinerary is one I hope they repeat in the future. That would be my dream vacation. I'm thinking a couple days of sightseeing on Oahu, followed by a couple relaxing days at Aulani. Then get on the ship and do some serious excursions on the other islands (I especially like the overnight stop in Maui and the ability to see the volcanoes on the big island), followed by five ultimately relaxing sea days. But in 2015 (and for the next several years) that's too much school missed for my DS.

I saved a screenshot for those wondering about the itinerary they did.

I LOVE this itinerary because it is one-way and would consider it. I think too much time is wasted taking the 14-day round trip Hawaii cruises other lines offer. I like the thought of having some extra pre-cruise days in Honolulu, and an overnight in Maui means we could revisit the Lahaina Luau (which we did for our 30th anniversary). We flew over and did days pre and post, but did the NCL cruise in the middle and it was not a great cruise experience by any means. And (unfortunately) it was our first non-DCL cruise.

Do you know what the prices were like for this cruise? And did they (by any chance) also sail one-way from Vancouver to Honolulu? That would be a great way to get business for their Aulani resort.

The price listed on the itinerary ($5414) was for 2 adults a 9 yr old in an inside stateroom. Not bad for Hawaii and the fact that it's 10 nights.
