Shock for about 5 seconds, and then I remember it's the internet. People will write anything because of the anonymity.

My first thought is to log on and post something nasty back. But I wait, and 90% of the time I click away from it and come back to it later, and by that time the nasty poster has been blown up all over the place.. The other 10% of the time I wait for someone else to post the first reply. Then add my .02 worth. Occasionally it gets to me enough that I say something as soon as I see it.

Mostly that I'd like to smack them, but as stated before, it is the internet and ppl here hide behind their anonymity. I think it makes them forget that we are all ppl with our own thoughts, opinions, and feelings.

I do not know why but lately there is an unbelievable amount of snarky rudeness going around on the boards, honestly, it make me Sad.

Thanks for the responses. I think every single answer has passed through my head at least once, it's just so . I never quite know what to make of these sorts and was curious what other people see.

For me it would depend on who was doing it and who they were doing it too.

Usually that and then that the poster must be a real treat in real life. I don't think that you can be a nasty so and so online and a sweetheart in real life.

I type out a response then most of the time delete it and move on. Tonight I typed out a response and actually hit reply, but it was hard because I am mostly non-confrontational.

I feel empathy, and wonder if they had a rough day (or rough life?)

I read it a second time to see if they were possibly being sarcastic. If it's blatant rudeness, I just wonder if something is wrong. I've never even thought to report anyone to a moderator.
