Well growing up in South FL my family took several trips to the world a year. I of course remember alot about these trips, but for some reason while I am at work listening to my lite work station some songs come on that remind me of these trips from long ago. One in particular being Vanessa Williams "Save the Best for Last" , because quite frankly, that song was pretty popular when I was young (or younger as some people would still consider 21 as "young") and we didnt go not even one trip with out it playing on the radio about 5 or 6 times. Anytime I hear it on the radio now I get all warm and fuzzy thinking of what it was like to go to Disney as a little kid, and what the magic felt like back then.

So, What non Disney song reminds you of Disney, and why?

Love Shack by The B-52's reminds me of Disney...I can remember listening to that quite a few times in the car as a kid while our family drove down.

All Beatles music now reminds me of the British Invasion
The temps were high the other day, I had Beatles on in the car and I was transported back to standing in front of the British Invasion with a half yard

Some of the songs from the Peter Pan musical make me think of Disney.:earsboy:

Dude looks like a lady, walk this way or Love in an Elevator .... almost any upbeat Aerosmith tune cause of RNR coaster

Once Upon a December also makes me think about Disney. (It's from Anastacia).

The reason is because I told one of my staff that I hate that people THINK Anastacia is a Disney movie. (We used the song in the recital last year ... I own a dance studio.) She proclaims "YES IT IS ... IT IS DISNEY!" She is a huge Disney freak as well so I thought maybe I was wrong.

Nope ... I was right ... is Fox Family Films ... not Disney!

I have not told her she was wrong yet ... looking for an opportunity ... don't mess with the Disney best! LOL

SORRY! double post

Barry Manilow sings a song called "Let Freedom Ring". Everytime anyone I know hears it they say it sounds like it belongs in the American Pavilion at EPCOT.... and it does sound like that!

I have a Disney t-shirt, simple, white, with a small purple logo on the left side of the chest that says "I Believe in Magic."

So, everytime I hear the Lovin Spoonful song, "Do You Believe in Magic?" I immediately think of Disney!

I also hum the song whenever I am wearing the t-shirt.

Republica - Ready to Go

They play this song at 7:00 sharp every night at Pleasure Island.

Great idea for a thread! I am also a Native Miamian, BTW...just a wee bit older than you though...(I am 37  )

Anyway, last time we were in WDW I had just started liking that song by the Foo Fighters "Best of You." Then, we were sitting in ESPN at one of those booths with a TV at the end (your own personal TV) and that video came on, which I had never seen before, or since, for that matter. So now, even my 7 year old DD thinks that song is a DISNEY song.

"Calypso", by John Denver. In 2002, I was at WDW with a group of handicapped adults and my mom and the mother of one of the adults. One day, it was drizzly and cold (like 45 degrees) and everyone else was going back to their rooms at the Dolphin to rest before heading back out for the night, but I wasn't tired and so went walking (with my Walkman) all around the Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach Club, to MGM & Epcot, etc., for probably 3 hours. Since it was cold and was the middle of the week, almost no one was out on the Boardwalk, so I was almost completely alone in the middle of a nautical-themed area listening to a song about the sea. It was cool.

Also "Drink the Night Away" by Gaelic Storm, just because I happened to hear it playing outside Raglan Road one night during my trip last January.

"This Everyday Love" by Rascal Flatts.

It was on the "Company Clips" channel all through our honeymoon, which I thought was appropriate. Plus, it's a cute song and the video is so funny!!!

Hearing takes me back instantly. :goodvibes

What a coincidence. My DD's ballet class danced this song at her recital last year. I think it's such a beautiful song, I actually tear up when I hear it. This year they danced to the the theme song from Anastasia "Journey to the Past."

"Love me" by the Cranberries makes me think of Disney because on my first trip there everytime my husband and I would turn on the car radio that song was playing.

I'm not sure who sings this song..."What a Wonderful World", but it reminds me of Disney.

Whenever I hear any of the real songs that Food Rock used I think about Food Rocks. It was one of my favorite shows. And now for some reason every time I hear Petula Clark sing "Downtown", I think of Downtown Disney and actually sing "Downtown Disney" when she sings "Downtown".

"Waiting for a star to fall" (1988) by Boy meets Girl

Who doesn't envision Magic Kingdom fireworks, when they hear this song?
