What movie "flops" do you like??

Stepford Wives from 2004. I actually paid money in theaters and loved it. I bought it on dvd. I still watch it a few times a year. Labyrinth did not do nearly as well in theaters, but I love it!

I loved "Christmas with the Kranks." It was full of visual cues that related to the movie but you wouldn't notice on the first time round.

I don't know if any of these were true flops (mostly low budget stuff), but all have big names (some before they were big), none of them were huge hits, and I like them all:

Fandango (Kevin Costner, Judd Nelson)

Last of the Dogmen (Tom Berenger, Barbara Hershey)

American Flyers (Kevin Costner, Rae Dawn Chong, Alexandra Paul, John Amos, Jennifer Gray)

Indian Summer (Alan Arkin, Diane Lane, Bill Paxton, Elisabeth Perkins, Kevin Pollak, Julie Warner, Kimberly Williams-Paisley)

Shoot To Kill (Sidney Poitier, Tom Berenger, Kirstie Alley)

I liked The Tourist with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, but it was panned by critics and made fun of by people here on the DIS.

The Champ

I was about 9 years old when that came out, and my best friend and I came out of the theater bawling after the movie. That little Ricky Schroder just broke our hearts with his crying!

"Fandango" is one of my all-time favorite movies. It's aslo one of those films that found new-life when it was released on video. Probably the best example of that phenomenon is "The Shawshank Redemption", whose box office was pretty modest and had to rely on foreign theaters to return a profit.

Battleship- thought it was fun

John Carter- liked it more the second time I watched.

White House Down- really loved that one! Don't understand why it "flopped".

Treasure Planet

Cowboys and Aliens

Green Lantern- didn't love but I thought it was fun.

I didn't think John Carter was all that bad. Don't think Ill ever see it again, but I don't think it deserved all the negative reactions it got.

I also liked WaterWorld. Would not mind seeing that re made, has a pretty unique story.
