What makes people put the Calvin "whizzing" on Ford, etc on their cars?

Is there a rival disney board we can make him going on?

LOL

I drive a pickup, live in NJ, and often listen to showtunes and Disney music on it. Not a country fan.
I guess the one pick up stereotype I live up to is that BUSH/CHENEY sticker on the back.

I'm also putting an XM sticker on it when it stops raining.

I think that the calvin thing is also tasteless. I was thinking about getting a Snoopy/WWI Flying Ace decal, but realized that it would be cool if my truck was red (The Red Baron) but didn't seem as cool on a blue truck. I never could come up with a good tatoo for my truck.

This is really funny, b/c I was just thinking the same thing this morning!! I was at a stop light beside one, and I just don't get it. It is tacky. I don't really mean any offense to people who have them, but it just seems disgusting to me and I don't like looking at it on every 3rd car I see. (especially staring right at me when setting at a stop light)

Do those of you who have them not think it is tacky and disgusting?

I agree--tacky.

People put a lot of things on their cars that seem tacky to me. I don't mind political statements but things that are just meant to offend or shock really bug me.
I saw a bumper sticker with the "F" word on it the other day.
Also, I don't like the little decal of the Christian fish symbol that has been turned into a footed creature that says "Darwin." Yes it's kind of clever but it's clearly intended to mock a particular faith. I don't like mocking of any kind.

Sometimes I think that people feel sort of anonymous in their cars (kind of like on the internet) and will put things on their cars that they wouldn't express to someone's face.

The peeing stickers and the stickers with bad words on them really bug me.

I don't get it either. I certainly don't see why any single guy would have one, it's the biggest turn off, next to giant spoilers.

It's getting old. I thought Calvin and Hobbes is retired anyway. It's not on our comic page anymore.

It's also copyright infringement. The author of the comic strip never authorized any type of merchandising of Calvin and Hobes except the books of the collections of strips. Any items (t-shirts, bumber stickers) etc. that you see are bootlegged.

I find them tacky as well. Some of the stickers I have seen lately have literally made my jaw drop. I have some stickers on my car, but all are clean and tasteful.

I also can't stand the knock-off sticker with Calvin praying in front of a giant cross. I wonder how people would feel if the two were combined :earseek:.

OMG! I was going to mention this. My MIL has one on her car!!! I couldn't believe it. That has to be the stupidest one yet. She probably doesn't even know who Calvin is.

I can not stand them! Especially since I love Calvin & know he'd never do such a thing! :)

I haven't seen that one yet. Bizarre...

I've got to agree with y'all on the Calvin and the cross thing. I always shake my head when I see it because it's the same trademark infringement (I assume) as the "Peeing Calvins"

I don't care for either, though I do appreciate the sentiment behind the cross one I suppose.
