I love reading people's stories about CM's doing something extra magical or someone giving you a couple fast passes to TSM. I have a friend that just came back from WDW and her daughter was able to open one of the shops for the day. They had a little ceremony and gave her a ribbon (or something similar). So, it got me thinking that I'd love a thread that is all positive, magical experiences that you never expected while at Disney. :goodvibes

We took our first family trip to Disney in December 2011. My DD, 3, is mesmerized with Cinderella so we had her hair/makeup done at BBB and then went to dinner at Cinderella Castle. During dinner, they had the "wishing ceremony" where all of the kids are told to make a wish with their magic wands. During the wishing ceremony, Snow White came over to our table and told DD that she was going to help her with her wish. When the ceremony was over, Snow White asked DD what she had wished for and DD said lollipops. Snow White chuckled and DH and I secretly started making plans to have a lollipop waiting back at our hotel room so DD would believe her wish came true. About 15 minutes later, a cast member came to our table and said that the Fairy Godmother had asked him to bring a special gift to DD so that her wish would come true ... and it was a lollipop! I was so touched and impressed that our family was sold and we will be life-long Disney lovers! A truly magical moment in my book.

During our last trip to WDW we arrived back to our resort room one late evening and found a large Mickey duffle bag on the table. We opened it up and it was filled with snacks, fruit, and drinks. We called or parents and it didnt come from them and we looked all over to figure it out, afraid it wasnt ours. Then we found a small card on it and it just said to the X family from your friends at The Port Orleans Resort! Later back home I looked it up and it is sold on their flourist page for $75, it was pretty neat!

We had had other neat things happen. That was just probably the biggest and most recent. We also had a couple offer us a case of water as we were checking in they were checking out and didnt want to take it. My DS14 was waiting on us at MK where part of the place is a store and the other part you can get smoothies, a worker called him over and gave him a free smoothie! He was excited!

Now, we have given un needed fastpasses to waiting families, used snack credits to give others a snack and once I overheard a mother not wanting to spend too much on the children for dinner and wanted them to share a kids meal, so I offered to use a QS credit on them as we were checking out and had no need. She was confused, but thankful!

On our last trip (Dec 2009), DD was 21 months old. We were wandering around the game area of Animal Kingdom and one of the CMs gave her an orange stuffed turtle - just because she was so cute. A minute later, DS actually won a green stuffed turtle. It worked out great that they both got a turtle and they still play with them.

We had a number of them on our recent trip! (Jan 28-Feb 3, 2012) It was a birthday trip for dd, and I've been joking that she is a pixie-dust magnet!

Hollywood Studios: dd got chosen to welcome the audience to the Little Mermaid show. She got a certificate designating her "First Mate."

Animal Kingdom: escorted to front-row seats and taught the audience the hand jive at Festival of the Lion King.

Whispering Canyon: free birthday cupcake.

Wilderness Lodge: towel animals.. they started happening only after dd started leaving the housekeeper notes (saying she had made the bed for her! That wasn't dd's point in doing it, but it was so sweet!)

MOST magical of all: surprise gift basket and a private meet-and-greet with Jack Sparrow! Link to the story, with pictures: Our Incredible Magical Moments

Beyond those... we were super impressed at how friendly all the cast members were on this last trip. Constant "happy birthdays" when she wore her birthday pin, tons of random Mickey stickers, and truly friendly smiles and interactions. Whether waiting for the bus, checking in at the hotel, boarding the boat, waiting in line for a ride... everyone was incredibly friendly. The cast members really MADE our trip.

We, too, have MANY Magical moments at WDW...

2002: Our Wedding trip... DSD1 was too scared to ride RNR....we were at the DHS board and a CM came up and heard us talking about it...
She Actually took us and rode WITH DSD1 on RNR... we walked straight in and did not wait in line... we have the picture from the trip... I think the CM gave it to us !

2008: TOT....we were at TOT FP Booth and trying to determine if we would make our ADR's if we went to TOT.... a CM overheard us and ushered us into ToT without waiting in line.... and rode with us....

2010: (Disney Magic that will always be my ALL TIME FAV)
Every time I brought DS to WDW... I took a pic of him trying to pull the sword out of the stone at MK.
Between birth and age 18, DS had been to WDW about 10 times... with the same pic. By the time DS was 16.. he knew he could not pull the sword out and was just clowning around during his pic...showing muscles and whatnot

FFWD : DS18 and I visiting WDW in 2010;......before taking the pic I mentioned this above to the CM standing nearby.....the CM said he had never heard of the sword being lifted from the stone !

Lo - and Behold....I am standing there taking the pic... DS18 is pulling the sword....and
and
and.... up it goes.... OMG the look on his face !

DS18 pulled the sword from the stone and was the KING ! He txted all his High School friends and I overheard him muttering to himself later... I am the KING !

LOL..
I have all these pics on my FB page... they are priceless !

My dd pulling the sword out of the stone was a very magical moment. It was right before 3AM during EMH and all the characters were around her. I was in tears...makes me so sad that can't happen again since the characters have been cut from EMH.

Last year we went to get a FP for the Jungle Cruise and before I got to the machine a CM handed me two...I thanked and her and turned to walk away and she said "be sure to check the time on them!" and I did, and they were valid right then. So that was neat!

DD has learned that if you look cute enough and drool just the right amount, the CM's making cotton candy will give you a free sample. :rotfl:

But the most magical moments dd has ever had have been thanks to one CM who has been so very sweet to her and done special things to keep the magic alive when it comes to her favorite character. He's gone above and beyond and given her extra attention, and as much as I would love to send Disney a long letter praising him I can't for fear of getting him in trouble, thanks to character integrity. Which is sad because they should wish that all of their CMs cared so much about what they do!

I love reading all of these stories!

My most magical moment was last year on our very first trip to Disney World on our arrival day. After we checked in we decided to head to the Magic Kingdom because I was over the moon excited to see the castle for the first time. On the bus to MK I realize that I had forgotten our camera in the room. I was so sad to think of all the memories we were going to miss with the camera. I quickly got cheered up though. We get through the gates and walk in to see the 3:00 parade *just* starting! We got perfect seats right on the curb, in the SHADE, at the very end of Main St. and could see the castle down the road. It was absolutely perfect! My 4 year old son was just beside himself. He was jumping up and down, waving, and saying hi to all of the characters. Then comes Cinderella on her float. As it passes my son blows her a kiss! She was looking directly at him at that moment and she "caught" the kiss then rubbed it on her cheek! My son couldn't believe it and was screaming, "Cinderella caught my kiss! Cinderella caught my kiss!" I had tears flowing. I was so happy and seeing the magic through his eyes is something I'll never forget. Yes I'm sad that I didn't have my camera to capture those memories, but they are burned into my brain forever. :goodvibes
