I just love on the people mover whe they say "pageing Mr Tom Morrow Mr Tom Morrow. your party has arrived from Saturn..please give them a ring" I also love the little hula dolls in Small World when they shake their booty really fast.

I love the fact that, as you move from land to land, you never hear the previous music, but that of the land you are entering. Such thought to detail!

I have always loved that line on the TTA. Cracks me up everytime I hear it. Of course my family just looks at me like i'm nuts. But at least I know i'm not alone...lol.

Did you know that the reason this is said on the TTA is that Tom Morrow was the name of an AudioAnimatronic character (host narrator) in the old Tommorrowland attraction Flight to the Moon (1971-1975.)

Tom Morrow was the Director of Operations in Mission Control for the Flight to the Moon attraction.

And, "Tom Morrow 2.0" (two-point-Oh) was a very small (about 10" tall) AudioAnimatronic character (welcoming host) in a previous incarnation of Epcot's Innoventions. He could be found just inside the doors of the building.

I agree! It baffles me how they pull it off, they must have sound resistant buildings on the edges of the lands that block noise from the lands next door!

The physics of how the sound from a source (a speaker, for instance) "travels" is that it falls off much faster than the linear distance that you move away from it.

So, even though you may be walking at a steady pace, the sound falls off (gets fainter) at nearly twice the rate as the distance you are walking.

Then, as you APPROACH the new speakers (different music) it INCREASES in level very rapidly as you get nearer.

The combination of these two phenomena means that the music in the new area you are approaching will "overtake" (and cover) the music from the previous area very quickly and completely.

I think that ought to confuse the issue enough.
My work here is done.

Move along, now.

There you go being all science-y when we really know it's MAGIC, Robo. ;)

What amuses me the most is watching little children play in the interactive fountains in Epcot. DH and I will often sit across the way and watch them play--it's hilarious how they're always so surprised when the water shoots up.

I like the gradual transitions from land to land. For instance, the little tunnel you walk through in between Fantasyland and Liberty Square (under the second floor of Columbia Harbor House). On each side, the building facade is themed differently to match the land you are viewing it from. Same building, two different looks. Little details like that are all over the parks. I enjoy attempting to catch them all.

Before riding Rockin' Roller Coaster, I love it when Steven Tyler puts his hand to his forehead and says, "Wait....I love that idea..." when the agent/manager quips, "Do you want them ALL to come to the concert?" It just makes me laugh.
Steven should NOT quit his day job to become an actor!

Yeah, Tyler wasn't really Oscar-worthy in Be Cool, not that he really brought that movie down himself with his brief cameo. The bar obviously wasn't set very high to begin with. His daughter must've gotten her acting-genes from somewhere else.

And I always thought Tom Morrow was used because its tomorrow if you put the names together - as in TOMORROW land - :lmao:

One other little thing I love about the parks are the obscure, yet vaugely familiar character actors they use in their attraction movies. Like John Michael Higgins in the Test Track movie. That guy cracks me up, especially in the Christopher Guest mockumentaries. And then, of course, Patrick Warburton at Sorain'. And I remember in Body Wars, one of the commanders is an actor I've seen in a bunch of stuff, but I can only really remember him as playing Doug's dad on King of Queens. I always crack up when I see these cats in the movies and people near me will look at me like I'm an idiot (which is partly true).

That's my favorite part too!!!! I'm not at Disney until I ride the TTA and hear it.

seeing in the water/ sewer /manhole covers the mickey heads...had to laugh....or seeing mickey heads were i would not thought possible. always makes me smile.

"Please stand clear of the doors" in spanish :lmao: :rotfl:

"Por Favor Mantengase Alejado De Las Puertas." ;)
Makes me happy just thinking about it

:woohoo:

I smile everytime I hear this :)

My wife and i joke that at DHS that every crak you see nomatter where was placed there for effect. :thumbsup2

I love this post! I always laugh about the tom morrow thing!!!!
I was just on another thread and someone posted a LINK to the monorail ride request. Well Just LISTENING to that announcement made my day, brought some DISNEY magic, just what I needed, I am SO SICK of winter and so ready for a Disney trip!! That crazy announcement to "stand clear of the doors" is just so DISNEYESQUE!! :rotfl2: Close my eyes and think I am there, LOL

Weird, but what always makes me laugh are the little quips Peach the starfish makes at the end of the Nemo ride: "Oh, what I wouldn't give to see a good root canal! Anyone got any cavities?" and the part about the song being nice, but hearing it over...and over...and over...

And "I Love Disco!" in the Jungle Cruise. Whenever I hear it I laugh and then the other guests on the boat look at me like I'm nuts, because they don't hear it :rolleyes1

I like the way the CM that make up the rooms will make little characters out of the towels and sheets and things like that.
